Frank V. Ross on 'Present Company' (2008): A Split Tooth Interview
'Present Company' began, in Frank V. Ross’ own words, as a more cynically toned project. He began writing a film based loosely on the Susan Smith child murders until he lost interest in the story. By the time he was ready to begin production on the film, it had been refined into a tightly wound domestic melodrama without the expressive highs normally associated with the genre.
