Ah, right, I remember hearing about this, an AI Podcast created to discuss a topic based on gathered information. I forget what generates this, but it sounds super clean and natural, although there are a few common AI mispronunciations. The content of it doesnt really take a side though so the "showdown" is a little pointless.

There are two factors I want to mention, that relate to what you were discussing. First, that as long as the game plays pretty smoothly, old or old-looking graphics tend not to be a huge obstacle for young gamers. I have several young gamers in my family, and each has gotten a lot of fun out of lots of games that were made before they were born. Secondly, you mention that the ideal situation is to be able to reward the game creators through an official re-release, and that's definitely true. However, much of the time, that's not possible, simply because the game IP has been bought out by some other company, or the creators who originally made the game are no longer entitled to a share of the money made through game sales. It's why I prefer to *buy* games made recently, by smaller studios, even though I'd often prefer to play retro games for fun. I read somewhere that of all the games released for the Operating System "MS-DOS," over its 15+ year run, the percentage that are still supported by their original creators is 3%, and that makes official re-releases an unlikely means of rewarding the creators of those games. These days, I enjoy tracking down creators of old games I used to love, and seeing what they've been up to lately. It's led me to find (and purchase) a lot of more recent games in the same vein as the old ones, like Bloodstained, the Contraption Maker and Gobliiins 5. It's not a replacement for the old games, but it's about as close as you can get to rewarding the creators of those older games in many cases. Then there's the thorny issue of licensed games, which are made when a game company works together with some other entertainment company, and those only see re-releases once in a blue moon, because doing so requires the companies to collaborate again under similar terms, and these days, the resulting game is usually not even released in a form that can be preserved, or even owned at all, meaning that there's no point in getting attached to it. But anyway, it's a big issue, with a lot of aspects to it, and a lot of questions that would be hard to resolve, even if our lawmakers were consistent, sane and reliable.
