I have had my SportGlide since 2018 when HD first came out. I previously had a CVO that skidded while making a very very low speed U-turn on a wet crosswalk. I had almost 1000 lbs on top of me as I skidded and broke 9 ribs and punctured/collapsed lung. I bought the FLSB after that because it was a bar hopper and touring/commuter all in one, was 33% less weight, had a 107 cu/in that runs as fast as a 114 with the stage 1/2, sits lower, and with the engine guards and saddle bags (with saddle bag guards) protects you from being a sandwich if your bike slides. My only issue with the girl riding, is that she does not know the basics! She can’t even turn the bike around from a dead stop. They even have to cut away as she is trying to walk the bike around. This is riding skills 101, and is extremely dangerous. HD sold a shite load of SportGlides to older guys during COVID, who all had money and wanted to ride a motorcycle again like they did when they were 18 on a Yamaha 125. They didn’t work on their riding skills and now you see them up for sale on Facebook Marketplace. Just this week I saw four for sale that all had less then 3000 miles (I saw one that had 300 miles) and all of them had expensive upgrades that they spent time putting on when they should have been out riding. I have owned less than a dozen bikes (mostly Harley’s) and this by far is the best all around bike. It is powerful enough to get you out of trouble when you are doing 90mph on the interstate keeping up with traffic. It also rides as smooth as a CVO and doesn’t shake like a sportster does; that shakes so bad that you can’t see anything in your mirrors. It is also light enough you can easily pick it up or walk it out of a parking space, and is low enough you can hold it up with one leg if you are stopped on a sloped hill. I think HD will eventually bring back the SportGlide, but in a slightly reimagined style and for a lot more money.
