Harley Davidsons vs Keeway Superlight
Cry cry cry. Theres still billions of motorcycles on the planet and you can buy them cheap. I have no sympathy for the dealerships. Useless middlemen when the manufacturer and riders already have all we need. Motorbikes arent going anywhere, scammers are.
50 odd years of riding now and owned a whole bunch of different bikes in that time (including harleys) but I'll be sticking to my reliable easy to ride hassle free cheap to run stylish triumph bonneville classic till the body gives in. Best bikes in the world! Each to their own as this is just my experienced opinion. Do it yourself simple services under 100 dollars every 4000-5000 kilometres. Very easy to work on machine.
Why care? you must be en idiot
What motorcycle at the front in the beginning?
Not mine, think it might have been a Kawasaki 🤔
@OnTourYT alright thanks for the info!
greedy bastards, owners sick of costs.
The current leadership/board of directors is in the process of killing our beloved Harley Davidson. It's a sad, sad story to watch. Killing the hand that feeds you just doesn't make sense. Is there something deeper going on here? High bike prices, high accessory prices, breaking the back of dealers....... what is happening?
@@fatdeluxe5302 I think they’re trying to take the brand back and own all the dealers, but there’s too many to afford That’s my tinfoil hat theory
I am on my 2nd 883, I currently own a 2017 Iron, I quickly replaced the original seat, with a gel touring seat, Forward controls, heated grips, and a new day maker head light, I still have the stock suspension as I never got around to getting replacements. The exhaust is a full V&H like the ones you showed with the EFI controller. While not perfect is still a great bike and better then the current Rev max version they seem to be running with at the moment.
Awesome choice! I’m thinking of doing a build video of making mine more suitable for longer trips like a mini tourer 🤓
@@OnTourYT My super low 883 had a windshield, saddlebags, and detachable backrest, is some ways it was a better week ender, i kind of got hooked on the blacked denim thing and switched, the Iron is better on petrol, I get maybe 250Km
got Deja Vu? This is what I'm calling the adHD cut of my day at Ruroc HQ. Enjoy seeing the highlights of all the best bits of the day!

Put a 1200 kit on it
@@chopperking007 1275 maybe 🤔
all harley has to do, bring back the bikes that sold and lower the prices of base models. and you will sell more and save the brand. bring back the evo sportster. and that alone will make a huge difference. but thats just my thoughts.
Oh I completely agree with you
Harley can take their woke idiocy and sit on it. I will NEVER buy another harley.
this all started with a Harley Davidson tariff of 1984. Harley Davidson hired a Wall Street type named Vaughn Bealls as CEO. He went to President Ronald Reagan and convinced him that the Japanese were dumping motorcycles below cost in the United States.. To save the 600 Harley Davidson, workers jobs, Reagan put a 45% tariff on all imported motorcycles.. Harley Davidson did not go out of business but 1100 Japanese motorcycle dealers in this country went out of business in the first two years of the tariff. More than 7000 Americans working in those Japanese motorcycle dealerships lost their jobs. I was selling motorcycles at that time. There were 22 motorcycle dealerships sign Japanese motorcycles within an hour of my home at that time. Here in 2024, there are only two Japanese motorcycle dealers left. So why are motorcycle dealers still going out roses? here is exactly why Because of the tariff, people stop buying motorcycles. Young men in their 20s stopped buying motorcycles, because for example, a typical 750 cc motorcycle price went from $2999, to $4750.. don’t forget the additional sales tax on that 45% increase.. and don’t forget about the additional interest paid on the larger loan. And don’t forget did it cost more to ensure a possible loss by the insurance company so the premiums were more also.. so young men stopped buying motorcycles, when those men got married, and had kids, they didn’t buy small motorcycles for their kids, and those little kids that didn’t get motorcycles at a young age didn’t grow up to become motorcycle enthusiasts.. and the cycle repeated, a little kids, didn’t grow up to be motorcycle, hobbyists, and when they grow up and had kids, their kids didn’t get dirt bikes to start out and grow up to become motorcycle enthusiast.. so here we are 40 years later after the Harley Davidson inspired tariff, even Harley is complaining about slumping sales.. do you have a lot of nerve complaining about something that they started.. they eliminated their future customers with that tariff 40 years ago.. And then I realize that not all those people that never got started in motorcycling would have bought Harleys, especially not as their very first motorcycle. People with my Harleys generally start it out on a less expensive used Japanese motorcycle. And after they learn to ride and became motorcyclists, they would move up and up in size of their motorcycles occasionally buying Harleys no, I realize not all of them would have bought Harleys once they became motorcyclists starting out on last expensive Japanese motorcycles. Not all of them would have bought a Harley.. Probably only a few hundred thousand of them would have bought Harleys
I have lived long enough to see the price of a Big-Twin go from $1,695 t0 $27,995....not worth it for most of this younger generation and our busy roadways.
Imagine if it returns back to the old mom and pop repair shops with a few new bikes out front for sale. Only the rugged will remain!
Motocross used to be a blue collared sport, now only upper class can afford to do it
I think they had these out before sons of anarchy
Yeah but I didn’t
@OnTourYT ive one coming in the post now and i hope i can fit it on to somthing it wasnt even ment for! Yea soa kind of responsible for reigniting the bike flame in my middle aged soul as it did for so many i think. Well let this be a homage to it then😄
Then I'll say it .....Woke and DEI is utter nonsense!!!
Go woke, go broke!
I was a Kawasaki dealer mechanic in the days of the Z1000. A full service would take a couple of hours. Then they brought out the GPZ900R, and you could nearly double that service time. Liquid cooled, fairing, tappet adjustment. A complete pita.
I'd say that it's a sign of a Great Depression. Multitudes of manufacturers. Just like the 1930's.
Great review Subscribed
Thanks for the sub! Welcome aboard :)
I think: buy toyota/kawasaki.
I’d love a Kawasaki again. I’d like a versys next
Dealers are sitting on lots of cheap used bikes, winter is the time to get serious bargains and help the dealers !
Blame the licencing and costs to even get a licence!!
I know I did it a few years back!
300-450cc motorcycle is just as capable and will have less electronics to go wrong. That’s my plan, Save the money, even though I don’t have cash for a new 1200 adventure bike. Guys these bikes are just as capable, just have to adapt your mindset
They are, something around 600 is my sweet spot
I rode HDs for twenty-plus years. Loads of them. No mechanical issues of note at all. Easy to maintain. The bikes themselves were fine. What did frustrate was the 'baggage' that comes with owning a Harley. You get lumped-in with the 'Wild Hogs' posers, or the 'righteous dudes', maybe the midlife crisis badge. Over time I shifted across to Guzzi. No baggage and a similar riding experience. Better hardware and handling generally too (though the finish doesn't stand up to UK weather as well as it did on my Harleys). I sold my Street Glide and bought THREE used Guzzis. And I can rock-up to a bike meet and be largely invisible; maybe seen as an old boy 'enthusiast'. That label suits me fine.
I completely agree I get all the stereotypes… only thing I like I the bike
Not only are the manufacturers ripping off the bikers with extortionate price increases every year by 'selling the dream', they haven't made motorcycles any more economical to run - cars do more mpg than motorcycles!! If they made them more economical and cheaper more people would buy them and use them.
3 dealerships in Nottinghamshire England last month closed for good
Horrible isn’t it
Westgate Hill in Newcastle upon Tyne is now officially dead to motorcyclists Back in the day it was the place to be at the weekend Now it's just full of kebab and shisa shops 😢
I walked into my main dealers and nearly fainted at the prices which these days are through the roof.
Insurance is putting a lot of people off motorcycling, I think the Ecycle industry as captured a lot of younger people that would have previously got a scooter or moped
@@orangealpine5267 I hate them things! Dangerous and they ride them on the pavements at 30+mph!!!!
@@OnTourYT agreed, there needs to be more regulations!!
@ there needs to be regulations for the regulators 😂
Too expensive now .
In the US, the tennis shoe CEO of Harley is forcing even successful and profitable dealerships out of business, from small towns to Denver suburbs!
@@mrpoizun it’s horrible to see how does it help anyone especially themselves?
The new bike dealer in town by me was one of the oldest BMW dealers in the US until they were told to spend 7 figures to "upgrade" their place with no guarantee of enough inventory to make the money back. They only sell Ducati now.
@@3089280288 this seems to be a common thing right now… this is why riders Bridgwater sell Indian motorcycles now not Harley’s
All created to meet AGENDA 2030....very few people will be able to freely travel in the new world order. Just waiting for a ban on all older cars and motorcycles, to save the climate....
The future is scary for our basic freedoms isn’t it
@OnTourYT The amazing thing is that most people refuse to see we are heading in to a new USSR type of system...EUSSR, scary for sure !!
The manufacturers of bikes are concentrating on who can make their bikes as techy as possible hence the rip off prices,i see it with car manufacturers, way to much money, the greed will be their downfall, why is it dacia,s sales are going through the roof, they make cars folk can afford without all the glitz of things not needed ,and the ones being made now look good, look at what we all used to laugh at skoda, now look, unfortunately they have gotten expensive too, probably as its mothership is vw.
A modern Skoda is full of vw and Audi parts to save money on manufacturing costs but then the supposedly cheaper brand has the price tag of the more expensive ones
Just look at the age of motorcyclists… I see loads of old blokes on so called adventure bikes and very expensive clobber… the top down marketing has completely brainwashed so many people. The community has been pushed into seeking too many big expensive bikes.. the core is affordable exciting motorbikes that the average working class rider can afford.. I find small capacity bikes are so much more fun, and so much cheaper to run. The industry has got to appeal to the younger generations if it wants to survive. I’m an old fart btw.
I was the victim of a hit and run while riding my motorcycle… a year later my new motorcycle was stolen and now I’m the victim of the the insurance companies £3000+ for 2k annual mileage.
@@Sjoldschool that’s just stupid… absolute con.
Harley went woke🤷🏼♂️
I run an old 52 Matchless G80.. Simple, fun and looks good!.. Need I say more??..
@@stevenwatsham5973 great choice!
Obviously there is a saying: go woke, go broke. But there is a deeper problem... government policies, regulations, corporate system. All this can't exist in line with freedom, friendship, fun. Dealerships are closing everywhere in the world. This week one in Plymouth, UK closed, few months ago one in Wrocław, Poland... I have read an article that HD doesn't earn on selling bikes at all anymore. China is raking over as more motoring brands are going into collapse: KTM, Saab, Rover gone, Volkswagen, Nissan, Lancia, Maserati, HD at lost and to follow soon.
Very good article, well said, it is getting expensive for something that is basically a hobby, I don't know what the answer is, BMW servicing costs are a rip off
@@mfh848 smaller les complicated bikes and smaller costs!
Spot on video! Thank you! I was about to purchase a Harley-Davidson next year, but this video just gave me the confidence to buy a Honda Rebel 1100. At least I know it's a MEN's bike!!! Sorry Harley, too much "inclusion" I hope "they" buy it as "they went to war in 1914- 1945, isn't they 🌈"... "they made the brand, and they are the ones who will sustain it from now onwards"... hope you (H-D) chosen your side well... as I STAND FOR MINE ( STR8!!!)
Never go anywhere near a stealership.
my Rocket 111 is 15 years old, no major issues, so buying a new motorcycle for me is pointless, the older bikes are a lot easier to service.........and 140BHP introduced by Triumph in 2004, I see a lot of Harleys while i'm out cruising, mostly in my mirrors.
Same in Canada and US. Motorcycle is the middle class guy toy. Most didn’t even really rode, just washed them on the sunny day. Now middle class almost gone, so is the motorcycle.
Hardly Drivables have more problems than too few dealers. Just keep the bike you have and learn how to service it yourself. Problem solved.
@@sidecarmisanthrope5927 that’s my plan!
This review is definitely helping me grab one of these on the black friday sale. My only hang up that remains is that its made in China. Like, why?
So I asked them about this when I was there They are regularly out in China doing spot inspections and updates. The factory is purpose built for it, and they bring all helmets to hq for quality assurance before shipping them out I wouldn’t be out off because they’re made in china, most things these days are. Just depends on level of quality
I stopped riding after 40 years because of distracted driving.
You will own nothing , and be happy !
