Best thing is to not install the push rods. They only wear out eventually, and they get bent. Plus by not installing the push rods you actually make the engine lighter and the fuel economy goes through the stratosphere.

I used to lash the valves on my 406 every 3rd tank of gas. I would do it cold then get it up to temp and lash them hot. The engine was in a 1980 Corvette it had 630 thousands lift on the intake and 610 on the exhaust.

I know it's on a small block Chevy if your valve rockers were that tight your engine would never run so you wouldn't have to worry about bent pushrods
