1958 Narrow Panel Fender Tweed Vibrolux

A little bit of playing and up close shots of my 1958 Tweed Vibrolux.

Just wanted to talk about and show some of my player grade vintage guitars. These two guitars will never be museum or collector grade guitars, but they are definitely special. You can't fake that "vintage mojo" from 50 years of playing. Hope you enjoy my rant, thanks for watching.

In this video we'll take a look at how to use Ohm's Law to calculate the bias on a cathode biased Fender Pro Amp. It is a 5C5 circuit from 1953. We will discuss the steps for measuring needed values and the steps for calculating others in order to successfully bias your amp. We take a look at two Fender Bandmasters in this video - a Pre-CBS 1962 Blonde / Oxblood Bandmaster and a CBS-era 1965 Blackface Bandmaster! The brownface bandmaster has a bit more midrange and a killer vibrato. The blackface has classic Fender cleans and a cool tremolo. Both heads were run into a Fender 2x12 cabinet with Oxford Speakers. I made this to demonstrate some overdriven tones from my 1962 Brownface Princeton. My camera doesn't have the best mic in it, but it'll do. Playing through a 1963 Gretsch 6124. The bias varying tremolo is some of my favorite tremolo in any of the Fender amps. The amp has a CTS Alnico 10" speaker in it.
