Life passes by each day and its a cycle that keeps on going until we're 6ft under becoming apart of the earth and our souls departs from the flesh into well whichever we belive happens after death. In a way gaming allowed us to have both nostalgia and a existential crisis at the same time. The good times pass by and the next generation repeats those good times.

Fire vid. Games used to be just that: Games. I have logged tens of thousands of hours in games like WoW, OSRS, Tarkov, etc etc. I quit about 2 years almost 3 years ago and its been tough but games are not what they used to be.

Video games have become such realistic life simulators (except way more exciting) that we've come full circle to the realization that we are simulating a life instead of living one.

I feel bad for gamers who fell down the video game addiction rabbit hole with normie games like call of duty or minecraft, because you really do come out of those games with next to nothing to show for it aside from trophies or achievements or whatever. imagine what it must be like to be a loser irl and then you find that the only thing thing you excel at is drinking energy drinks and twitching an analog stick a few mm every few ms to press a button when the correct polygons are in the middle of the screen. it placates the double digit iq dudes just enough for them to be fine with their assistant manager job at the burger king. goin on 8 years bro, that's a solid tenure! dudes be using pto for a four day weekend to play fortnite with the bros and still bringing the switch in to work when he gets back on wednesday. it really is sad. I've suspected triple A gaming is partially designed to keep certain groups of people unable and unwilling to think critically. follow these instructions, go from point a to point b, do this thing then this thing then this thing in this exact order and no you cannot think outside the box you must follow them precisely, unquestioningly, unflinchingly. these games have so little text to read and what text there is on screen is being read for them. it's no wonder so many of these morons are as boring as they are. I swear, you didn't even have to mention playing halo online, you can tell by the droning gamer voice that you spent a huge chunk of your formative years talking shit in xbox live lobbies. it's always the same gray voice, as grey as the lack of creativity floating around in that grey matter of yours. don't get it twisted, you failed yourself, but someone else failed you as well. you were set up for failure and unfortunately fell for it. we can only hope you realized this in time to learn new skills.

Yeah. It’s true! I think gaming isn’t a waste of time if it’s only in small doses and sparks joy. You play for maybe a 6 hours a week tops strictly for leisure. But there’s something to be said for you having fond memories of nintendo and losing that with the xbox. I think the singular, finite, wholesome and frankly less addictive experiences that nintendo provides are better than anything else.
