I have not found any 'free isbn's' only through services to sell your book- d2d as an example. But, you can never take that isbn with you. You must buy your isbn as your own 'Bowker' 125.00 for one.

Great talk. I'd be interested to know how having your books wide, rather than in KU, would change these figures, as I'm guessing a lot of Steve's income comes from page reads, as opposed to Amazon sales.

Quick question regarding the Meta Pixel: Is this absolutely required to do FB ads if we are only going to point directly to our book on Amazon and NOT to the web page? I really wish I could listen to this talk, but the buzzing sound is overpowering and the voice is so quiet, it's impossible.

I went and tried it out and it's amazing. I didn't realise what a thrill it would be to hear my book narrated by someone else. It coped pretty well with the fantasy names, too.

I watched Steve Speak this week at the Self Publishing Show Live 2024 at London's South Bank. While his talk was fascinating it did not reveal much about how he achieves such significant output. I searched for other interviews or recorded talks by him and this one was much more useful because he shares that he does not write, he dictates. This was so useful to hear and understand why he is getting 6,000 to 10,000 words a day.

He's got a phenomenal memory.

This was the single best presentation of the year, in my opinion.

I have five books; two are in a series, and I'm soon to publish book three in the series. My first book has 50 ratings with a 3.8 average rating because it was free for a long time. I'm currently not driving any traffic to my books, so I'm not making sales. Should I start advertising?

After trying almost everything, including the Open AI playground, Descript is the best app for this. The accuracy was nearly flawless, and it's not too expensive.
