Thank you so much! I’ve worked in the jewelry business for many years, but never got involved in tying knots for pearl necklaces. I really would have loved to have seen how you did those last three pearls to finish off the necklace! As for me, I’m one of those that learn by watching. Thanks for doing this video!
Can't see anything
Thank you :)
No, you’re knot.
Thank you very much for very detail an explanations ❤❤❤
Where to purchase the “gimp?”
Etsy shows this jewelry shop not currently selling items
If it is the exact same look i dont even know why anyone would try and use tweezers or an awl. You just need to use a size 2 silk instead of 4. So much easier. Even though i am pretty good at knotting.with an ez knotter, i can be going.for an hour making.great tight knots, and then make a bad knot that i cannot untangle. Then the only choice is to add larger beads to fill over the bad knot
Do they make the gimp wire in larger sizes? I have some 9-10 mm potato, pearls with large holes, so I’m probably going to need silk cord that’s thicker than the #2 shown here in the demo.
I have some amber beads i want to restring. I havent worked up the courage to get started yet...i keep watching videos and there r different methods and supplies for usually doing the beginnings and ends. The holes r drilled pretty large. I think i will need a thick string and bigger more visible knot?
I live in Philadelphia and I pay a jeweler $100 to restring for me! I have a pile of necklaces that need to be done. I finally got smart and decided to learn myself. Thank you for this video you r saving me a ton of money I don't have to spend on these projects. The jewelers r jaded around here also. They seem like they don't even really want to do it when I ask the. Hey, if you don't want my money I will keep it😆.
Such a perfect method, very easy, secure and explained and shown in a way that is easily understood. Thank you so much for passing on your knowledge in such a good way.
Hey Lloyd. I love this method. I would love to visually see how you finish the end. I think you do explain it well, but I’m such a visual learner. I’m having a hard time processing it.
Thank you for that great video. Well done and a big help.
How you call this little gold plastic (I think its plastic) which connecting clasp and first bead? I hear you name it, but with your southern pronunciation, I cannot recognize the word.
Is french wire, he also said it on the beginning of the video 😊 w/ the materials
Love this!! Thank you!! Don't have tools so this is a straightforward way to do it. Very secure as well!
Thanks . Easy and clear video.
Thank you for this great video. I was able to restring a old pearl necklace that was given to me as a gift. The string broke the first time they put it on me. I had to adjust a little because it had knots between each pearl. If anyone watching this that needs to put knots between make sure you use a little more than double the string in front. I just put a second knot the same way i did the first one. I had to order more string and redo it because there wasn’t enough string in front to finish the whole strand with double knots.
Exceptional video! Thanks!
Ou on acheté ces aiguilles pret enfiler. Merci
Thank you for this informative video. I will try this method in my jewelry making.
If you gave trouble getting the needle/cord through, perch the pearl atop the side of your finger, and pinch the through strand below your finger tightly. That opens a gap between the through strand and the bead, makes it tons easier to thread through that second time.
How in the world do you get the needle through the 2nd pearl?
Thank you. I've used this knot but not this method. Great video.
Thank you. Now I will try stringing what I have had for many years!
Excellent demonstration.
You are out of focus, we only see your hand
I have a question, what size French wire do you use?
I strung a set of pearls for my daughter a few years ago using this method. The holes in the pearls were too small and it fought me like crazy. I wasn't able to use the Griffin cord because it doesn't come thin enough. The knots kept catching, and the friction of pulling the string through the pearls repeatedly really wore the thread down. But in the end I had a beautiful strand for her! She insisted on wearing them constantly , including while skateboarding, and eventually they broke - mostly due, I'm sure, to how I weakened the thread from the too-small holes. The knots held, though!! I took the time to bore each pearl out a little they finally accepted a double-thickness of Griffin #2 silk. This time they threaded beautifully, only took 90 minutes (instead of over 4 hours!), and have a much better drape. THANK YOU for posting this!!!
You are a lovely person and I could listen to you talk all day. Thank you for this video! ❤️💎
🤣
🤣
Thankyou for keeping it simple. Also your voice is very soothing. Im excited and no longer afraid to start stringing
Thank you for this, I just found your video :) would you mind telling me where is the best place to buy pearls? Thank you
I have watched this video a few times to learn how it’s done, and have completed necklaces to show for it . Thank you
Thank you for sharing! I collect vintage pearls and have a few strands I need to restring.
Your video is great, you are an excellent teacher and I followed your instructions and completed ( hopefully ) one of many strands of beads. Thankyou.
Thank you so much! It's one of the best videos about this, very helpful
Best explanation!!!💛
I clipped on the link, but nothing pulls up. I'm trying to find your page to order some things.
The best video !!! I have been looking everywhere for over a month for the name of that wire and this method! I nearly cried 😭 when I came upon this video ! Thank you soooo much 🫶🏻
למה אין תרגום מאוד מצער
.
What do you call the gold loop that the clasp ball attaches to at 5:10? It partially goes into the pearl?
Ok it's a gimp, but I can't seem to find this sort of thing online.
Ah it's French wire. Look it up if you are new to this as I am.
Thank you. And you have a very calm speaking voice, relaxing to listen to.
Gracias por tan lindo trabajo!!! estoy en eso y me cuesta hacerlo con la punta del alfiler pero esta técnica está increíble 👏👏👏👏👏❤
Brilliant ! Thank you for sharing
Excellent instruction.
I would love any opinions on how to make a single drop pearl necklace myself. It seems like I shouldn't put on a chain to avoid damage to the genuine pearl but I am new to this and don't know what my options truly are.
Hard to hear...really struggle...seems like the sound is not loud enough...
