Klaus Waldeck is mainly known in the field of electronic music, but with strong references to jazz, swing but also cinematic sounds. He is widely known for his highly acclaimed album Ballroom Stories which is considered to be one of the most influential albums, and indeed was some kind of a prototype of the Electro Swing movement. His musical range however goes far beyond. After finishing law school he became a copyright lawyer. In 2001 he founded his own label Dope Noir Records. Together with singer Valérie Sajdik he also formed the group Saint Privat. In 2007, Waldeck released Ballroom Stories on which he's featuring for the first time Zeebee. After a long break he released his album Gran Paradiso 2016 which Waldeck labels as „Spaghetti & Western“ production. In 2018 he released Atlantic Ballroom followed by Grand Casino Hotel both featuring Patrzia Ferrara. Many of Waldecks tracks have been used in TV or advertising, such as Greys Anatomy, Ferrero or Versace.

During the young Italian director Luca Gastaldi´s last visit to Vienna @waldeckdopenoir he and Klaus Waldeck had the spontaneous idea to make a simple, but stylish videoclip to one of Waldeck´s greatest hits "Memories" in the new version sung by Patrizia Ferrara. The new version is part of the 20 years anniversary edition that was released in 2022.

The original version is still one of the most favorite tunes in my lounge music playlist. As well as the whole Ballroom Stories album. "Make my Day" especially.... That Zeebee's voice... SO MANY YEARS !!!! It's one of the staples of the lounge music golden era, in my opinion. Saint Privat was very influential too... Some say it's more of a trip-hop, but ( for me ), it's closer to a lounge. But no matter the genre - Thank you, Klaus!
