Peasant Hut Speed Paint Demo on 3D Printed Peasant Hamlet
www.myminifactory.com/users/GameScape3D#/
Reload: forgot the who drybrush segment on first upload.
A video showing how to get a hut from this months release quickly painted. Applicable to the stone barns as well. Just use straight gray instead of the off white mixes. For more info on this months release check out our tribes on myminifactory, $5 for a bunch of stuff every month. The price of a coffee if you like paying that much for coffee.
Wash Mixes: Wash is 1 part paint to 1 part matte gel medium to 2 part water. This is still way to thick for a wash but prefer to cover surfaces and the add water with brushes or sponges to vary effect.

      Please reach out if you have any questions. Just give up and let the paint do the work. Do not try and control things. Speed painting terrain is more like Jackson Pollack than mini painting. Just paint shitty in different ways instead of a uniform treatment. Do not over work. At some point just stand it up and let it dry. Do NOT try and speed drying up with sunlight or fans. Let me know how it goes. All Stone buildings can be done the same but will need one dry-brush coat, irregular.

    It would be really nice to have some inserts or rubble for where the top set rests on the lower set. It would look a lot more natural and not so alien and artificial since the cliffs just kind of start and stop in an unreal way and if you aren't going for that turn why bother painting it? Just do a little add,-on/extra for something that helps join or cover the interface from one level to the next, like you did with the townhouse and other stuff which was awesome if you. Those rowhouses are some of the realist feeling terrain out three.

    • @gamescape3d
      @gamescape3d 4 месяца назад

      Thanks Adam I'll have a look! I'm not sure what I can add that would be better than a bag of gravel. If you are thinking of something smaller that does not have to be directly integrated into the cliffs I think I can help. I think It will still be a little alien looking regardless of transitions. I don't think there are many (if any) natural examples of a cliff off-set from, but on top of another cliff. One exception being the unplayable option of a lower cliff ascending at a sharp angle into an upper cliff. This set is intended to split the difference between playable surfaces and the idea of a mountain, if people use it that way.

      Ah, I have access to a 52 inch wide latex printer. The image itself I think I just got on one of those free wallpaper/landscape photo pages. Can't remember which one but there are a few. I've really found AI to be awesome for this though I have too many back drops to take advantage. The AI can work well, especially if there is a source photo or 2 to push things along.

      @@gamescape3d Nice, I started water color to make backgrounds (like I needed an excuse to start another hobby.) Learning how to scale a skill based on 6x9 watercolor paint and into background of banner size has been... a challenge. No success yet. Watercolor with a 4" wide brush is... interesting (and expensive) My friend works in a banner making shop he's always printing out maps on scrap ends... his employer calls it a perk and lets him. What motivated you to acquire the printer?

    • @gamescape3d
      @gamescape3d 4 месяца назад

      @@HunterMayer Good luck with the watercolor, It is too unforgiving for me. As for the printer, I have access to it through my day job, it isn't mine personally. I guess when we got it I figured people would use it like I do, but it hasn't really worked out and it has constant issues. Like a small printer that never works right, it is just bigger. It is also the only close source machine we have so all major work on it ultimately needs to be farmed out to HP.

    It would be cool if the inside was functional, like a cavern system. It could be at least two tiers. Every six inches or so and you just pull off the top to reveal another playable layer.

    • @gamescape3d
      @gamescape3d 5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the comment Sean:) Something like this did cross my mind but my concern is it would look cool but would not get used on the tabletop. Maybe a short wall thing. I think the cliffs for sure could make a nice hiding place for a dungeon level but I would think it would end up being pulled out on the table to play out. I have a hard time imagining a DM making everyone stand up to look down into a pit to play out an encounter, or moving to one side of the table. What are your thoughts. Are you imagining access in a different way from me?

    • @sean210420
      @sean210420 5 месяцев назад

      @@gamescape3d yes, I was thinking a short wall thing but like 2-3 story's. So like you could have an entrance at the top maybe and as the players go lower into the catacombs you could reveal the next layer with cavern walls. Similar to a castle with rooms or building but caverns with different areas. I hope that makes sense.
