These cheap, lightweight, Chinese made, high frequency, transformerless, inverters offer much shorter life expectacies and far poorer surge capacities than low frequency, transformer based inverters. And because they don't have a built in output transformer to provide galvanic isolation, they can damage your appliances. Google it if you don't believe me.
I'm curious what materials you're using. What was the liquid you swabbed on, and what was the product mixed in the bucket? Also, where are these products sold? Thanks.
It's the acrylic that you mix in the texture mixer. You can buy texture for pools from a pool store. I was using the acrylic as a primer so the texture would adhere better
Xcel is the product it's 2 part 1 part acrylic 1 part powdered texture
@@offgridroadrunnerranch Thanks, I guess I need to go to a pool wholesale place. There's a spot called Gorman's in town. I really need to get the right stuff. I had someone recommend a product that turned out to be drywall mud. I only need to patch up a few spots and cracks. Thanks for the great technique vid. I appreciate it!

@bobwilliams8349 no problem good luck
Nice job 👍🏽
Appreciate the support!
Hey y’all it’s looking good I’m a newbie, just bought land in west Texas! So I’m learning looking to do things the same way! What’s the machine y’all are using to transfers the water ?
I believe it's a 1 1/2 inch gas water pump from harbor freight
Looking good!
Thanks for the comment
Self sufficient? Did they cut down and mill the lumber to build that house in the desert? Are they capturing their own water from the roof to use? Are they eating food from their garden? Where is that gas/diesel fuel coming from?
Nice work
Thanks for the support
New subbie. Off to binge.
Oh really thanks nice to have ya
Wow y'all this is so awesome!! Great move. The rocks here are such an amazing resource✌️ That's a lot of rock and dirt moved 💪
Thanks for comment and hope things are going well for you on the plant
So cool!
Thanks Mikey
Can't wait to see the backyard. I know it will be nice for me to enjoy bbqs😊
Thanks for comment.
Big mistake using multi grade oil for a start. just ask any Detroit expert.
Greetings from up North. I have two 6000xp's to install this coming spring. I enjoyed your video very much and it was good to see this setup can be stable using the generator input instead of an external charger. What capacity battery bank was being used when you did the install? Cheers!
It was a 200amp hour or 2 eg4 server rack 100amp hour batteries. The minimum for 2 6000xps
Thanks!
Looks like an old 118 Galion. The one I ran had the hi/lo range for the tranny on one stick, the ranges above one another. The 4-71 ran like a top. Watch the fluid levels CLOSE! Blessings
I am NOT an expert. With that said it sounds like it is not so much an injector. Liners is my hunch. White smoke looks to be steam n oil. Keep monitoring yer fluids as I think coolant side is finding its way into the cyls. Ol Detroits can take a lot before they give up. If yer temps and power are "stable" I would just remain vigilant but keep on grading. They are a really incredible engine
Thanks for help
I wish I could help. I sell tools, but I’m not allowed to use them.😂

Nice love it
Thanks
Awesome! I love your videos 👏🏾
Thank you so much!!
Nice 😊
Thanks 😊
At our Minnesota fishing shack we pump lake water for cleaning. Drilled wells in the area have a significant risk of arsenic contamination which is difficult to treat. We only drink lake water after we have boiled and filtered it. There is also a public spring on our way to town which has excellent drinking water. The spring water is free but the flow rate is too low to fill an IBC tote in a reasonable length of time. There is usually one or two others filling jugs at the spring whenever we go. Thanks for the video !
Thanks for.the comment and support
Wow that’s so inexpensive!!
Thanks for the comment, Mikey
Why is your holding tank black?
It's black to stop the sunlight from getting to the water and growing algae.
Great video!
Thanks for comment
Is the plan to get a well drilled, or do rain catchment, eventually? water hauling isn’t terrible, if you’re driving by the filling station normally anyway, but I can see it getting old if it’s a long way away😳
Well eventually is the plan and Rainwater catchment asap.
@@offgridroadrunnerranchI saw a video once on the rainwater catchment with filters. It was quite simple but worked
🚰🚰
I always wondered how people lived without a well. GOOD VIDEO
Thanks for comment have a great day
Can you drink and cook with your water now? 🤔
Absolutely we can
That's exactly what I need for my offgrid system! 👍🏽🫡
Glad I could help!
I couldn’t do this stuff if I tried! So fun to watch! Great job guys! Can’t wait to see the finished product!
Thanks so much!
Just saw you two on the news. Subscribed, excited to follow your journey!

That is the straight up after-math of meth addicts living in a house.
We have a 45kw natural gas generator for this and to run our whole house and 8 tons of air conditioning plus the electric kitchen and a 42u rack and some other things like 2 BEVs and a bev zero turn mower. It runs 1,800 rpm and is liquid cooled. We also have a 22kw diesel on a trailer, a multiquip with dial a phase on the screen for Winter outages and longer duration ones where the natural gas isn't available for some reason. It's 1,800 rpm too but also turbocharged 4 banger diesel instead of a v8 natural gas, propane, and gasoline in the 45kw. In the Spring, Summer, and most of the Fall the natural gas is only used for hot water and to dry our clothes (tankless heater and a 9 cubic feet gas dryer) and 2 100k btu gas furnaces, 2 40k btu gas fireplaces so we like having the diesel in heating season if we need it. I hired an electrician to do all of this stuff though. He pulled the permits and subcontracted the 30kw of solar too, it was all installed in 3 or 4 days. House has 200a of service and 2 200a braker boxes.
Sounds like a nice system thanks for the comment
I heard generac is unreliable overpriced inefficient crap
What would a kwh per gallon be? Is there a way to maximize it by setting rpm?
The way to maximize is to charge as fast as possible and then only charge between 20 percent to 80. It takes about the same time to go from 0 to 80 percent as it takes to go from 80 to 100 percent. As for cost per kilowatt, it is hard to do the math because the is running during the charge, but we live desert and the ac is 90 percent on the power we use and per day in summer was costing 1 1/4 gallons of propane so solar is really needed to reduce cost but it works if you lived in a dark climate like Alaska
Hi. Just subscribed. I have a few parcels in horse shoe rancheros in White Hills. Someday I might have a airstream or small house . Good luck
Oh cool right on. Thanks for the comment

Very beautiful land and video
Thanks, we love it out here it's very peaceful. Thanks for comment
I looked at doing this with my 10/11kw Generac, but EG4 says you must use an inverter-generator with no more than 3% THD. Generac says these generators have a THD of <5%. Supposedly the EG4 inverters can be damaged by the higher THD and voids the warranty. The recommended way around this is to use the Generac to power an EG4 Chargeverter that charges the batteries directly. The newest Chargeverter can even control the Generator for start/stop based on the state of charge in the batteries.
I believe most of the thd comes from under sized generators. Eg4 suggested to use double the sizes gen to make sure it doesn't struggle with load and this system is more than double the inverter size. Thanks for comment.
@@offgridroadrunnerranch Yeah, I agree that THD comes from undersized generator. Well, if EG4 suggested it, then you're good to go. Nice for me to know also. Do you happen to know, in the 6000xp settings can you limit the load on the generator like you can with a Chargeverter? My Generac isn't as big as yours, I'm a little afraid of causing it too much load.
@mattcwagner the eg4 alowws you to set the size of the generator so I am assuming that is what limits the draw. Not sure 100% but I believe the 26kw gen was larger than the biggest setting i could put down for gen size i believe the 2 eg4s had a max setting of 24kw
seems like solar panels may have been easier?
Ya i agree but in order for them to get there occupation permit they did the gen and then they are adding solar later. If they did solar first they need engineering and more permits to get the occupation cert
@@offgridroadrunnerranch good to know thanks
@FaraFox-e4w could be applied to areas that don't get alot of sun though
This is my plan as well, bought a 22KW Honeywell from COSTCO on sale (made by Generac), to replace a failed Cummins 20KW.. it’s currently connected through a 200A Cummins transfer switch. I also have a 10KW Enphase microinverter system, line side connected.. next will be an EG4 GridBOSS and FlexBOSS21, along with (2) of the EG4 PowerPro WallMount 14.3KW Lithium batteries.. the house uses 50KW/day, so on low solar or grid failure days, the generator will startup for a few hours to charge the batteries back up…. So should always have power, even during extended winter storms and grid down situations.. already bought the 2 wire start kit, to be ready. Now just need $14K to get all the EG4 equipment 😬
@mwolrich sounds like a solid system
Great build. I don't think many realize how hard this is.
Thanks for comment and support
Awesome story and video… couple of thoughts Invest in an atmospheric water generator to produce water from air Yes, higher humidity you get more water BUT there’s AWG that can produce water as little as 30% humidity Add household plants to raise your humidity levels Good luck!
We will look into that. Thanks for the comment and support
Love you both, I’m doing the same thing in Meadview, AZ, not far from you. I bought 65 acres for 30k, spent $80,000 putting in a well (1,500’ deep) and am on solar. I use to work as a Manager at Allegiant Airlines in Summerlin and I would never go back to the city. Loved her comment about having to prepare for Alaska.. 😂
Wow 65 acres. We love Meadview. Thanks for the comment

Living off grid means also…NOBODY KNOWS WHERE YOU LIVE BESIDES FAMILY AND CLOSE FRIENDS!!! Todays meaning “living off grid means we are still connected to society in every way but we living in the country calling it OFF GRID LIVING”…..
I think the common ground of both sides if the off grid debate is off grid people don't need the government to give them power and water you provide that to yourself
Just a clip….THIS ISNT OFF GRID!!!! You PEOPLE!!! Need to learn the REAL MEANING OF WHAT OFF THE GRID LIVING IS!!! Living off grid means you ARE NOT CONNECTED TO SOCIETY IN ANY WAY!!! INCLUDING INTERNET!!!
Off grid back in the day meant you were a hermit. Now, it means what it says off the grid not connected to the grid at all. Now technically we are connected to the internet but not threw a cable but with starlink these days anyone can get that. But if our internet goes down, it doesn't affect our lives. Our power, water, and lives do not change. I don't think its a bad thing to teach people how to live without needing the government to give you everything and I think that is really the common ground on the 2 extreme sides of the off grid debate
