If Kita is getting bullied like this, I can only wonder if the person who inspired half her name deals with a similar thing. The band members all share their last names with members of Asian Kung-Fu Generation. It's true, look it up.

I can understand her pain really well, everyone's names have meanings like savior, valiant, prophet while my name literally means male camel. It also doesn't help that my surname means hawk.

She is embarrassed because the name Ikuyo itself represents a relatively traditional female name in Japan, and the full name sounds like a pun with the combination of the above meanings. It is certainly an uncommon name for a young girl, but from a Japanese sensibility, it is a nice name that evokes a grace.
