Cinema 4D Python Bytes: Cloning Cloners - Do Python Effectors Still Work?
In this Cinema 4D Python tutorial, we clone a Cloner, which uses a Python Effector. I was recently asked, if an Effector that uses a counter, would still work if the Cloner that addresses it, were to be cloned. This tutorial answers that question.

      You just need to plumb the elements of the second caterpillar into the Xpresso expression, exactly as you did with the first one. Then it will work.

    stunning - i made it work with an outdated version of c4d(R14). Today’s news text tickers often use hundreds of LED lights. The text travels by turning these lights on and off. That would be quite a challenge. Also a task for a cloner and of course python. All the best to you

    help... i’m running out of wire! And then the hardware shops are sold out too! But otherwise the logic works well. It’s been quite a journey so far. So, thanks a lot for your elaborate presentation. As already commented in a previous section, using XGroups makes the whole thicket a litte less overwhelming. Regards p.s.: Using names on the front end is fine. In the expression however, it is much easier to work with A, B, C, D, E. The various combinations are more obvious than with letters like SNBCD. Testing the setup, i noticed that the logic for the banners (the condition cascade from index 1 to 4) are returning a 3 (5 equal results) at the beginng of the race. All Elements have O points, thus they’re all equal. That’s a little confusing, for no race-cycle has happend. But this can be sorted out by dynamically feeding another index number to the cascade.

    how yould this be used to change the color of each clone based on its x rotation for example?

    • @ExpressoMechanicTV
      @ExpressoMechanicTV 2 месяца назад

      There are a number of possible ways to do this, but to give one example, if you wanted to change the colour every time the clone rotates through 90 degrees, you would do something along these lines: If clone_rotation_x % 90 == 0: change the clone's colour Obviously, you would need to set up variables and possibly, a list of colours that could sequenced through, using a counter, perhaps.
