No worries Gazza. Best of luck with the diploma. If you study hard then I’m sure it’ll be distinctions all the way.
Would you use 1/2 inch pipe to radiators
Normally it’s 15mm, but some rads might be 8mm or 10mm.
Thanks mate this helped a lot and taught me so much 👍
No problem. Glad it helped 👍
Just started the diploma with CBWA. Big thanks for all these videos, I will be watching them all!

What is the maximum pressure for 1inch diameter potable water pipe sir.?
The best source would be the manufacturer as it will vary by material.

Thx. Is it ok to add a pressure tank to the hot water system instead of using an open vent faucet? (i.e. use a regular faucet, but have a pressure tank to prevent steam pressure building up) Thx
American building codes are a bit different to the UK Building Regulations (I’m assuming you’re American as you use the term faucet). In the UK you shouldn’t expect any steam as there are a number of safety precautions that should be taken to prevent the water from exceeding 100*C (control stat, overheat stat and temperature/pressure relief valve). In most cases it’s normally okay to upgrade an open vented to sealed system as long as it’s installed to local regulations/code.
Hello mate it's hard to hear you. I think the microphone or something
Thanks for the heads up
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!

Thank you Daniel iam do my level But still come back to watch your video
Really glad they’re still of use Ahmed.
sir Daniel i have watched all your videos through out this year level2 thanks you
Hello may i know about your social media id i wanna know something about it
I’m happy it’s helped!
Great videos. Where can I download slides of your videos?
They’re on the Moodle page of CONEL College, but not available to the public more generally I’m afraid.
Thank you for the explanation. Is it fairly expensive to upgrade to a two pipe system from a one pipe, especially if you are also upgrading to a combi boiler?
Thanks for the question. The cost would vary by property, number or rads/lengths of runs etc. Worth noting that changing to a combi isn’t necessarily an upgrade as they have a limited flow rate (it takes a LOT of energy to heat water). Whether a combi is right depends on the amount of hot water you’d need.
Hi Dan, thanks for your vids, they make it much easier to study than just reading through the textbook. At the end of them you say now its time for your tasks.....Where could I find what these tasks are? Are they art of the C&G course or from another institution you worked for?
I have them on the Moodle site at the college I work for Miles.
Just starting my Level 2 Diploma and very grateful to have found these videos. Thanks.
No worries Miles. Glad they’re useful!
Hi Daniel, just wanted to say a big thank you for these presentations. In line with the City and Guild slide decks, it helped me to revise in a structured way and get the grade I needed.
Nice one Scott. Glad it’s helped!
Hi Great video. Where can I buy the testing equipment from?
Screwfix is probably a good shout.
You should be able to get the gear from Plumb Centre or Grahams
Dan the man
Really enjoy watching these slides. Like having another tutor for my level 2 course. Thank you
No worries. Glad it’s useful!
Aye
On a one pipe system with radiators in series, would it be necessary to balance the system via the lock shield valve on each radiator,?
Water would only be pumped round the pipe not through the radiators. It travels into/through the radiators via convection and you wouldn't want anything to slow this down, so locksheilds should be fully open. You would need to oversize later radiators to allow for the heat loss from earlier radiators.
Thank you for your video i am student at conel my level 2 plumbing
Glad you enjoyed it Ahmed.
Excellent explanation
Much appreciated.

Where is the rest
Hi Sandeep, all the information for L2 plumbing is on my channel.

Thanks Matthew. Really appreciate the feedback.
Thank you!
Brilliant! Thank you.
good work Dan ,im doing my c & g level 2 this year and so far ive got distinctions in my first 3 tests - i have my fourth tomorrow(h & s) and have found your videos and quizzes very helpful!.
Thanks John. Well done with your tests so far. I’m sure you’ll nail your H&S tomorrow too!
well done in explaining, we wishing from you that you explain the most common sanitary pipework used in UK and what is the basic difference of that systems than that used in US and Canada
Thanks Sameh. I think largely the systems are similar given the purpose is the same. There will be a few differences I’m sure, but my channel is for my plumbing students in the UK, so I couldn’t go into specifics. All the best finding what you’re looking for though.
