Thanks! Glad to hear you're finding success with your book business using Master Book Flippers and CVP
Hi, is master book flippers a good place to find text books to sell? What can you tell me about finding text books on this platform to profit from?
Hi. Using our software is an excellent way to find textbooks! We provide a set of books daily that are highly curated, so you don't waste time looking at books that can't be flipped. You can easily filter by textbooks to find them quickly. You can see and try it 100% free >> masterbookflippers.com/plans/
I'm currently using one of the Non-Automatic 3rd-Party Repricers. The weakness I see with anything based on Amazon's Automate Pricing is two-fold: First, there's no control over how anything is priced in relation to Amazon's own New price (its being normally impossible to get a sale if your Used book is priced higher than Amazon), and, second, there's no way to control how your book is priced in relation to other New 3rd-party FBA offers (its being quite common anymore to see New 3rd-party Prime offers priced LOWER than Used ones).
Good points! Pricing used books in relation to Amazon's new offers can certainly be tricky at times, especially when you see third-party FBA offers priced lower than used ones. Fortunately, situations like new third-party FBA offers being priced lower than used ones don’t happen frequently enough to be a major issue at all; and if they do, there’s likely a more important sourcing issue at play-we at Master Book Flippers rarely encounter this with our sourcing methods. What’s more important is using a repricer that continuously adapts to market changes. With a non-automatic repricer, you’re stuck manually adjusting your price, only to be quickly outdone by sellers with automatic repricers. This can make it harder to stay competitive, especially when you need to raise prices. Master Book Repricer offers automatic repricing without data blindspots, so you're not missing out. It's a far more reliable way to stay ahead in the used book market on Amazon, not to mention the cost savings over time of not paying monthly fees for a non-automatic repricer.
@@MasterBookFlippers Thanks. The one-time fee is very attractive as I am on my last few hours of the 25% discount offer. But, another question please. The repricer I use currently is Neuroprice, which also has no blind spots. And, you can reprice all your inventory at once, though you have to manually click each time you want to go in and do it. The next biggest selling point for it (after no blind spots) is that you can program it to match, price under, or price above any of the lowest three Prime offers, based on Current Sales Rank. The question is why would you always want to be the lowest Prime offer, especially for books that are fast sellers? With Automate Pricing you can price a certain amount or percentage above the lowest offer, but how is that beneficial when you don't know what the second, third, or other offers are? And why would you price a book ranked 50,000 the same way as a book ranked 500,000? These are the main objections I've seen raised against Automate Pricing.
@@GoldAndSilver988 Regardless of your repricing software, you definitely do not want to 'always' match the lowest Prime offer-this is especially true for textbooks. When textbooks rise in season, this is one of the many reasons to use an automatic repricer instead of a tool that prices books based on sales rank and doesn’t automatically reprice your inventory. Setting Min & Max prices, along with a repricing rule that avoids data blindspots, provides far superior control and results. Sales rank is generally a poor metric for making purchasing decisions (a 60, 90, or 180-day average is better), and the same applies to repricing decisions. Sales rank is a point-in-time metric; for example, a book with a 90-day average sales rank over 1 million might show a rank of 50K today simply because it just had a sale. You wouldn’t want to assume it’s a fast-selling book and reprice it accordingly based on the 50K sales rank metric. When you use an automatic repricer, you are setting a range of prices, not just a specific selling price. The lowest FBA and the third-lowest FBA prices could be very close or significantly different, making them no more reliable than the range you set with an automatic repricer. Trying to match the second or third-lowest FBA price could lead you to price well above or below your intended minimum or maximum, whether you've documented those limits in the repricer or not. By setting minimum and maximum prices, you maintain control, knowing that your repricing will stay within those boundaries. Simply repricing against an arbitrary second or third-lowest FBA price, without proper guardrails, can easily lead to underpricing or overpricing your books.
@@MasterBookFlippers Does the training include going over how to determine the best min & max to start out with? I see from the video that both can be raised or lowered in small increments as needed, but I'm talking about the initial min & max. Too low of a min price and the book will get snatched up way too soon, and too high it will sit there forever and may never sell. I'm not as concerned about the max price, although I guess it can also be too low and/or too high. Finally, all my items right now in inventory are thrift store buys, except for one book that I did buy OA many weeks ago. It seems that no matter how low I set my min price, multiple sellers still regularly underprice it (even all the way down to $5 for FBA books!). How can the price range you talk about work like it should when this is going on all the time? That's my last question; promise, lol.
@@GoldAndSilver988 We have a detailed training video that explains how to initially set the minimum and maximum prices, while also offering some basic business logic on how this can be done effectively. Additionally, we have a future repricing date and break-even field that, when populated, can both be very helpful in optimizing your book repricing. These features are especially useful for seasonal books (e.g., textbooks and holiday books).
Great video - Victor you are very credible$
If one is more focused on turnover of book inventory, making sales, than getting highest profit/ROI, is it more effective to use buyback rule or lowest price rule with Amazon seller central auto repricer? Thank you for your response.
There's no rule name 'buyback' with Amazon's repricer; we assume you mean buybox. To focus more quicker sales the rule would focus on closely matching the used buybox and/or the lowest FBA with the lowest FBA possibly getting more sales, but it does depend on offers from other sellers and how amazon is distributing the buybox. You should also pay attention to the sales pattern of the book; you would not want to price low at the expense of upcoming anticipated price increases (e.g., with textbooks).
Thank you.
I'm so new to thinking in terms of tracking all these details. I feel I can do it but I am so thankful for these detailed videos explaining the best way to do things and what to look out for.
You are so welcome!
I've always checked this every now and then by going to Business Reports, then Sales and Traffic, choosing the By Month option, and then dividing my Total Order Items by the Average Offer Count. This gives me my % of inventory sold during the month based on the average number of offers during the month. Divide by the number of days in the month and you get the daily average %. This method may have a weakness or flaw that I'm not aware of.
That's good method - certainly better than not tracking at all. We only suggest that would be to track weekly rather than monthly; this allows you to keep a better eye and react more quickly if there's an issue. Using the outline mentioned in the video it's a very minimal amount of effort each week and the charts help you view any trends. A small increase in your weekly inventory turnover rate can have a significant impact on profitability over time.
@@MasterBookFlippers Many books show as Active and Live, but still show as Unavailable. Sometimes they stay like this for weeks, Unavailable and yet Active. Should those be counted as part of your inventory, or should you wait until they show as Available? I have had some purchases made while items were in this status, even though the expected delivery time to the customer can show two weeks or more.
@@GoldAndSilver988 We don't' recommend micro-managing it - You'll drive yourself nuts as Amazon can/does move inventory; better to just stay consistent as far a measuring it and doing it the same each week. We recommend looking at 'Active' only, regardless if it is reserve status (i.e., unavailable) or not.
Great info
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing tips
What is the max price used for? When does the repricer raise your price to the max?
Every repricer needs to have a min & max price; you're book will then be priced within that range which you set. You can set the rule to raise you price and then it would price up to, but not over your max price.
Thanks you so much !!!! really
this will help me in Automated Long-Term Storage Removal Order
I am starting to get quite a pile of books with different covers than the amazon listing. Can i just mention that in the condition notes and sell them
The book you list should match the ISBN/ASIN exactly on the listing-that's most important. While you may be able to list books with a different cover, if the ISBN matches the listing, you open yourself up for higher returns and negative seller feedback; not recommended.
Nice job!
i have had mine disabled and they went over my head and enabled it again
Where do you get the weight of the product?
Within the Master Book Flippers software, we include the weight of each book. Alternatively, you can find the weight of each book on the book's Amazon listing; scroll down to the "Product details" to find the item's weight.
Excellent - I have been thinking of checking out Amazon repricer. Will try it with one SKU.
I’m a subscriber to your monthly service No one is addressing this enough cause it isn’t a sexy subject Please do a video on not getting paid by Amazon When they deactivate your account and then get reactivated but they still don’t pay you. Also video on what really work to reactivate account after deactivated, calling seller help and doing a case log does not help they just transfer your case, there’s a ton of innocent seller getting the shaft and Amazon is doing nothing about. You can pay an attorney a few thousand dollars and hope to get this fixed but no guarantee Innocent seller, not the criminal counterfeiters, should not have funds held for weeks, months years Destroying for some there primary source of income that maybe Amazon My account is active but I’m not getting paid for weeks now, after being briefly deactivated over a book I innocently bought and listed, I don’t knowingly violate Amazon rules, many others are in the same boat. Sad
Hi. What was wrong with that book that led to the deactivation of your account?
Only 1 left in stock? So this online book arbitrage strategy consists of us FBA sellers buying 1 book multiple times from different amazon sellers or? Im confused.
You can purchase 1, or more copies, from one seller, or from multiple sellers.
Thanks for the tips! I realize this video is a couple of years old now, but unfortunately being on the Professional Seller plan and selling products via FBA is not enough to earn buybox eligibility anymore. My greatest struggle at the moment is trying to increase my sell-through to raise my IPI without being eligible for the buybox. Amazon will not disclose how they determine buybox eligibility, but I'm assuming IPI plays into their formula.
We recommend contacting Amazon multiple times if necessary to gain clarity on this issue. If you're on the $39-a-month professional plan, you should be eligible. Given that Amazon refers to vendors as their 'selling partners', they owe you a clear explanation if you're not receiving the expected value for your fee. Although I've heard of other sellers successfully addressing similar concerns with Amazon, when contacting Amazon multiple times, the exact decision-making process remains unclear.
@@MasterBookFlippers Thank you! I have reached out twice and resigned to simply earning the buybox, but it is validating to hear that others have had and successfully addressed this concern. I'll continue to reach out to seller support!
@@heatherc8270 Also, keep in mind that be "eligible" for the buy box and actually getting the buybox are two different things. Often, seller support agents don't understand this. To validate if you are or are not "eligible", go to your Manage Inventory page and look for the column labeled "Featured Offer eligible". If you don't see that column then click on the preferences button and unhide it. From there you should see either 'yes' or 'no' for each item in your inventory.
@@MasterBookFlippers Yes, I've wondered if that's what they mean when they're responding to my messages, but my problem has been that they have told me both times I've reached out that I'm not eligible for the buybox for the ASIN I've provided. Even though the reason I reached out is because I'm not eligible and I should be. I just sent another message and kept it very short and sweet and also attached a screenshot of their own policy which shows I should be eligible. Fingers crossed! Thanks for your guidance! *EDIT* I apologize, I did not click the "read more" and see the whole comment. Yes, I have verified I am not eligible, I see all "No"s going down my manage inventory page.
has anyone ever got amazon to even listen to you when you open a case about a high pricing error that is caused by faulty data going into their pricing algorithm? I've attached competitor price links providing their price thresholds were way to low. they simply told me they go by their algorithm. end of story. or they make up some other excuse as to why they won't make any price adjustments. I've sent them completed ebay auction links showing they were trying to force me to sell my product at less that half of what it is selling for on ebay and they simply don't care.
How do you compare to Book Trades
While we haven't personally utilized the Book Trades product, we've had a number of Master Book Flippers users who have. Based on the feedback we've received, there are several notable distinctions. Firstly, MBF is significantly more cost-effective. Secondly, our service/software boasts more robust features. Lastly, our understanding and expertise in the Online Book Arbitrage industry is more comprehensive compared to Book Trades. Additionally, one key differentiator is MBF's integration of technology with a human touch in the book sourcing process. It's been noted that Book Trades doesn't seem to offer this feature. Additionally, Master Book Flippers is committed to providing value with no upfront costs and a 14-day risk-free trial, an offer not mirrored by Book Trades. It's also worth noting that trying out their service requires a significant financial commitment, with no free trial available. There are numerous other benefits that set us apart, and we're considering creating a video in the future to delve into these details more comprehensively.
How do you create your SKUs?
Sellers use Master Book Flippers software with Amazon listing integration, which automatically generates SKUs. These SKUs include the ship date, a part of the book's title, and the purchase price. However, sellers have the flexibility to further customize these SKUs, automatically, as they deem appropriate.
How can something drop in price by more than 100%?
We take the price drop amount and divide that by the current price
The new workflow doesnt allow me to ship from a different address. Thank you for explaining that its like a draft email. I felt like i made so many mistakes but i can start over. What a relief.
If the new workflow doesn't allow you to ship from a different address, you need to make sure you have more than 1 shipping address on file within your account. If you believe its a technical error on Amazon's part, then I suggest you contact Amazon. And if you want to get them on the phone, here's a quick video with the steps - ruclips.net/video/1W9UG-0T1lY/видео.html ~ Best, MBF
What if i delete the workflow inorder to start over? Is that ok. I use accelerlist to send to amazon and it showed that I had no sku's. Im assuming thats what you meant when you have to wait 4 hours. Amazon forced me to the new workflow and it is worse. Thanks for the video
Yes, its perfectly okay to delete a workflow and start over (as long as you did not finalize and accept the shipping charges). Yes, if its showing that you have no SKUs that the issue; simply wait a few hours.
Is there a place where i can set a price and when the fbm price drops to that price i get an alert/email notifying me?
Yes. Click on the 'Track product' tab within Keepa when viewing a book on Amazon and set your price.
When it says "above lowest price" does it mean it will try to reprice your item 2nd to the lowest price or does it mean in a literal sense. For example if you're viewing the list, so the lowest price is on top of list, will it price you "Above", thus putting your item the lowest?
"Above lowest price" means that it will price HIGHER than the lowest price. So, for example, you can set the rule to price $1.50 above the lowest price; if the lowest price is $10.00, your price would be priced at $11.50.
@@MasterBookFlippers I thought so, i just want to clarify, thank you. I will definitely use this for now as I am just starting my journey. Will save me from spending more on subscriptions lol. Glad I came across this. There's not alot of videos out there for Amazon's repricer
Thanks! That was extremely helpful!
Thank you for this detailed and clear tutorial!
Hey, so when you DISABLE it, is that mean Amazon will keep your inventory in stock and it can be sellable again or what? Please help me out its kind of confusion for me.
Did you find answer?
@@tolgao5801 Hayir
Yes, Amazon will keep it in stock but that does not necessarily mean it will be sellable; it depends why the product was set for auto-removal. For example, some sellers could have their account to have inventory removed simply because it has aged.
Will your software work for non-English books and different markets?
Our software works with Amazon.com and is not tied to the language of the book, just the marketplace (amazon.com). You can use our software from anywhere in the world; you would buy & sell on amazon.com and use a usa-based prep center. You never need to touch a book. We can recommend a prep center for you once you get started.
How are the books priced at the prep center?
As the seller you determine the price of you books. You'll work with the prep center on the exact process.
Got a postcard in the mail from y’all and that’s how I ended up on this channel. I’m so excited and I can’t wait to try this out!
Awesome. We look forward to having you learn more about MBF and how we can help your Amazon business.
thank you
Great updates, thanks Victor 😃
How do you know what date to put when confirming the shipping date? Is it just an arbitrary date in the near future that you want UPS to come pick up your package?
Its simply the estimated date in which UPS till take possession of your boxes; this gives Amazon a better idea of when they can expect your shipment. It's perfectly okay if the date is not exact, but you should try to provide a date that is within a day or two of the actual shipment date.
The dropdown menu only shows 'new' for me but its not new
Does your software also work for Amazon UK thanks?
It does not, it only works with Amazon.com. However, you can do this business from anywhere in the world (using amazon.com) by getting a USA-Based prep center to physically handle your books.
I was trying to do this with unfulfillable auto removal to disable it and when I hover over my mouse to disable, it won't let you do it. There's a stop sign and it wouldn't change. Seller support said they cannot change user settings. Now when the system makes an error and mark some of my units as expired, Amazon automatically creates a removal order and there's no way to disable it.
I never remember how to do this. I watch it every time i need to get them on the phone! Thanks!
Does the profit column take into account FBA fees?
Yes🙂. The profit & ROI you see would be your actual profit & ROI per book after all the Amazon fees. Also, may not have been shown in the video, we have have a 'prep fee' column; if you use a prep center, you can add in that cost and then it will automatically update the Profit and ROI
Hi, do you know what is the different when sending to FBA when the new Send to Amazon is rolling out on Oct 17?
Hi. There's many differences and we touch upon a few of them in the video. Since the old process will be 'old' very soon, we are not going to go in depth on what is different and what is the same; I think the focus should be on the new 'Send to Amazon' process (for better or worse).
Thankfully, I've had ScanLister for years; bought it for a lifetime price very inexpensively right after it came out. Nathan and the team have taken steps for shipment-creation through SL that will make dealing with all this stuff totally unnecessary. I can't comment about AccelerList, Inventory Lab, etc.
For listing purposes those tools are the correct tools for local sourcing (i.e., buying books from thrift stores, garage sales, etc.). For those that value time and efficiency, those are the WRONG tools to use for Online Arbitrage and are unnecessary with Master Book Flippers software . This is because the Master Book Flippers software integrates inventory management with sourcing -- a feature not offered by other Online Arbitrage tools. Each of those tools you mention requires each book to be scanned/listed ONE AT A TIME; with Master Book Flippers software, for example, you could list & create a shipping plan in just minutes for 250 books (or more); those same 250 books will take you hours using those tools.
@@MasterBookFlippers I understand, Victor. But since I seldom buy over 2 boxes of books (OA and local sourcing combined) per week, and more often only about 1-1.5, the speed issue is no issue for me. I enjoy doing things at a leisurely pace.
Have you seen whether the inventory in the active workflows counts against your inventory limits? That was a problem in the past
Good Catch! Yes, it appears as though anytime you have SKUs in a workflow, even if not finalized, it adds to your utilization quantity. So its definitely a good idea to delete unnecessary workflows.
Thanks Victor!
What repricer are you currently using for Books?
Amazon's FREE repricer
Are books still a big seller online ?
Absolutely! Unlike some/many products you can continually find profitable books and don't need to worry about fad products.
The onlyissuei see with this is wouldnt everyone be buying the same books in your list causing them to be over saturated?
No. We use sophisticated algorithms to ensure all our customers get plenty of books to flip each day. We've found that not everyone does this business everyday and everyone has different preferences on what books to flip, not to mention the restrictions are different from seller to seller. Finding quality books to flip each day is a non-issue with our service.
