    I started my dreads with braids locs two years ago and they came out nice ! Braids hold better for my texture of hair ! I used a crotch needle at the ends after a few months of using rubber bands. Took a whole year for them to start looking like dreads, but I was happy with the results !! Unfortunately I will be starting them tomorrow (cut them off ) to restart ( had a few bad hair cut experiences) 7:56

    I’m looking to start braidlocs. Leaning team grid, but I’d offset the grid similar to a brick pattern. That way its still organized, doesn’t line up too perfectly.

    My son has starter locks, he’s on week 3 but has severe dandruff and very thick flakes on his scalp.. Will this process help to remove those? He’s starting to reconsider his lock journey so I’m trying to keep it alive in him!

    • @DavidJaysWay
      @DavidJaysWay 6 дней назад

      This method will allow you to wash the locs better without them unraveling as much but it may or may not help getting the patches of dry scalp to lift all the way. For me, I was able to get most of it to lift, breakdown and come out but not all of it.

    I do a lot of dancing, and hairs keep getting all over my face, which is quite irritating. So, I started using the littleextrraa neatfix hair finishing stick. It’s only been a week, and I’m quite happy with how it holds my hair without making it hard or oily. Additionally, it’s super easy to apply. I’d say, forget hair gel-neatfix is the latest thing for girls!

    I’m in the 3b hair type family my hair is fine and my natural curls are loose so I will still have to braid and band and I’m not going to wash my hair right away.

    • @DavidJaysWay
      @DavidJaysWay 12 дней назад

      With a looser curl pattern that is probably a really good decision. Start off braiding and banding and over time you will start to notice your hair changing and maturing and then one day you might braid and band all of you hair except for a small section to test it out and see how it does before washing your entire head loose.

    I watched the pros and cons video your speaking of and I wanted more in depth/details which is why I’m here I’m about to install my own braid locs this coming Monday. And my cousin is going to help me install them and she was asking if she should braid them tight or looser does it loc any faster or slower depending on how tight the braid was originally braided.

    • @DavidJaysWay
      @DavidJaysWay 12 дней назад

      Thanks for watching my videos. In my honest opinion, I would braid as loose as possible so they still look nice and stay braided but not so tight that they look like you’re trying to rock braids forever. The looser the braids the quicker the hair is able to move around and start maturing! Because I started with braids, I was able to wash my hair on day one and never dealt with any unraveling.

I am combining out my T Locs for a micro install next week and was just wondering what size did you go with and what’s your loc count? Also, what was your install method? I’ve also heard that you shouldn’t must your micro locs which doesn’t make sense (to me) because I have great success with the T locs. I’m a guy and it’s hard to find guys with microlocs so any advice you could provide would be awesome :)

    I want to start my locs journey, but I live in Brazil and have almost no information about growing with braidlocs. I am the son of a white with a black lightskin, and so I have a curvature 2c, 3a, 3b. It’s well mixed, the back parts of the hair are very wavy, but the front parts are more like a 3b than 3a, and my hair has MUCH frizz and I wanted to know if you recommend me to start growing with braidlocs.

    • @DavidJaysWay

    I love the length of your locs. What are your thoughts on adding hair (afro hair) to starter micro locs (braided) for some added length. I'm thinking about doing that.

    • @DavidJaysWay
      @DavidJaysWay Месяц назад

      Thank you so much. I would be careful adding length long term to make sure that the weight of the extension isn’t too heavy. With traditional locs you have much more of a base to work with but with microlocs you don’t want to add too much consistent tension. So if you’re going to do it, make sure you or whoever is installing it makes the extensions proportional and light as possible
