175 is not low lol
The other cylinders were at 220 !
@@teyscocset yea but i see people say it has to be within 5% but if its anywhere near where its considered good compression its usually rings, bypass, etc. a few WOT cycles evens her right out
Very nice
Dommage pas en français
Les sous-titres en Français sont disponibles !
Nice job, looks great. What's the top speed with the 115?
Thank you for your comment ! Top speed is roughly 40 knots.
This is sick, i also love the business aspect of it
Thank you for your comment !
This looks cool I’m gonna check the full video out
Tu l'as acheté via quel site internet ? Super vidéo sinon !
Agora store
Bo boulo
Acheté à Brest?
@ludovicjouan4544 tout à fait !

Plywood sheet? Hope you had a mask cause that shit wass glass fiber
Yes, that piece of plywood was laminated with fiberglass !
Nice
Bravo bon travail 👍 bonne balade profitez bien de votre Zodiac.
Merci beaucoup 👍
@@teyscocsetjolie boulo ! Un budget de combien a la fin ?
Thanks for posting. Very helpful.
I am glad it helped !

On manque de détails, dommage !! Magnifique !
It runs so well, and all is in a nice package as well. Congrats! :)
Thank you :)
Great to see it is possible to pack a decent amount of electric power into a relatively small boat. Thanks for sharing your journey!
Thanks for watching!
This is great

i paused your video then spent 2 hours going down a google rabbit hole looking for an electric motor capable of replacing the 125hp powerhead on my boat. @746 watts = 1 hp. id need almost 90kw to reach that goal. ok so a used ev car motor off ebay...but then id need a 90kw battery also from ebay and that only lasts 1 hr at full tilt. no wonder this isnt more popular...the parts are expensive as all hell. in real life you'd need 270-300 kw battery to spend the day with the family on the water. 4 used tesla 85kw packs $6,000. used ev motor strong enough $1-3k, controller / wiring and the list goes and goes. bare minimum $10k to build a 120hp electric outboard with mostly everything. not including rigging/ steering, infrastructure to hull for batteries, machining, or freight shipping on all of the above parts. if i had to guess itd be closer to 20k than 10k all in. but heres where my theory diverges...cars are very heavy...they come from the factory with (1) 85kw battery pack. how the hell does it go all day? what kind of electric voodoo or sorcery is this?
It is useless to go electric for a speedboat, unless you spend under 45 min full speed. Energy storage solutions aren't advanced enough at this moment, but this may change in the future. Cars are very different from boats : A boat will go close from full power all the time as it has to push the water to move forward. Cars on the other hand will use most of their available engine power while accelerating, and then use only 10 to 25% of their available power to stay at a reasonable speed. Making the batteries run much longer than boats.
That's a lot cheaper, and you can build the packs in the shape you need. The result looks great! Thanks for making this awesome, straight to the point video. Does the BMS handle any voltage differences between the packs when you connect them in parallel? What would happen if only one pack was charged, while the other was discharged?
Thank you for your comment ! When you connect the two battery packs in parallel, if there is a little voltage difference, the higher charged pack will basically charge the other one. But it is important that the difference is lower than a couple of volts, otherwise the current will be too high, either damaging the cells or triggering the charging current limit of the BMS. Nether the less, the BMS will handle the voltage difference between the cells in series within a pack.
Huh, so this is what they are making you do in Europe? They banned all the good boats and now you have to go electric for motorized boats? Nice.
No boats are banned here yet, this is just a personal project. It is true that petrol outboards are more user friendly than the electric ones, for now !
I've really been enjoying following this build and would love more info on the pack. What type of BMS? What sites are you using to source the parts? What are you using for a charger? The spot welder you have looks cool, where is that from? Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much for your feedback, I like to spot manufacturers on Alibaba and contact them directly. They are very nice and provide custom products. The BMS comes from DALY, it has a bluetooth function. I bought a charger from China as well, it is programmable, it can output 25 Amps at 117.6 volts. The spotwelder is a capacitor bank with a couple of mosfets, handy for small packs but definitely too slow for 392 cells ! A video about the testing is coming in approximately 2 weeks.
@@teyscocset Thanks for choosing DALY BMS!! The video is definitely a great work.😍😍
Thank you, your BMS is a great product ! Do not hesitate to get in touch if you need promotion media.
@@teyscocset I'm sure we'll have the chance to collab.😉
Thanks for sharing! You've got it running really smooth! Can you tell us what heat exchanger you've used?
Yes ! I am quite happy with the result ! I used a plate heat exchager originally designed to cool down beer. You can see it at 3:18
Great job! You may want to consider a small radiator with coolant instead of using the salt water. There will eventually be corosion and build-up within your cooling system.
Thank you ! This is what I installed in the former oil pan, an heat exchanger and a separate cooling loop with coolant for the motor and inverter.
Very interesting and well done ! Any idea about the overall cost ?
Thank you for your comment. For the outboard itself, overall cost is around 2.500€
Verry good stuff here !
Glad you like it!
What about motor speed? I tried the same with a 3000rpm 7.2kw motor on a 5hp 2 stroke outboard, but the motor is by far not running quick enough. I 3d printed another prop with a steeper pitch, but the goal is to use a belt drive
I was able to reach 5000 rpm with the steepest prop available, with a power draw of approximately 11kW ! Quite an achievement to be able to get on plane and up to 20 knots with two people on board.
Awesome what are you pulling kw around 11 knots 😎@@teyscocset

Was it dress ply wood used?
Hi sir are you still active, can you share me the plan for this boat? Thankas
Plans are available on tangoskiff.com
hello friend, for the long term, will the plywood you use rot when exposed to water? Great job 😊
It won’t ever be exposed to water and rot, as it is surrounded by fiberglass and epoxy resin :)

Your video's are the slowest and you take too long, on another note do you sell the patterns and how do you join the 2 ply woods together. If you have an email i could talk to you more about this. I can happily pass my email privately. Regards
