The new Oceanographers are a few years old now, & only really gained traction with people who looked at the cheaper end of the spectrum, & even then the RRP made them a really hard sell. The newer GMT was given some quiet plaudits at the time, but didn't cut through either. Really, the Oceanographer is probably the most sold of the retro revivals, but the least lauded, with enthusiasts much preferring that one that looks like a Fifty Fathoms, or the Astronaut look-a-like. People talk about them, but not rapturously. Now, if they stuck the Precisionist movement in a sub-40 integrated bracelet Snorkel reissue!

They should have made it a 200m diver, used sapphire and the Bulova accutron movement. They would have hit it out of the park. It's a colorful, cutesy toy watch, but definitely a miss.

I think this was a fair review of the Bulova Snorkel. I kind of like the colorways that they decided upon, and the case material is interesting. I'm not sure if the strap is as weak as you mentioned, though. I agree too that the Oceanographer definitely does not have the cachet of the Fifty Fathoms or the Speedmaster, so this seems like an odd choice for an homage or reinterpretation. Besides, if it was made as a skindiver/snorkeling watch, 100m of WR is definitely not optimal. The mineral glass... I'm also confused about this choice. If they were making a homage to their own watch, why not make a better attempt, and use actual sapphire? Quartz isn't very appealing to vintage Oceanographer owners, but it will do the job. I wonder if they even considered using their accutron 214 movement instead, and gotten that smooth sweep we can see with higher beat automatics.

I bought a 2025 ninja 650 and jumped straight on the highway with it. No prior experience. That slipper clutch with assist and abs work really well and forgiving for new riders. Very comfortable.

Everything about the 650 is more for me. But then you see the price tags, and don't forget insurance!

Since you have a Haltech, ditch the stock CAS and get a trigger kit. It's the best thing you can do for any RB, even if they're stock. Thank me later (I've owned an R32 GTR for 8 years and learned the hard way)

Youre gonna buy a 400 and replace it in 3 weeks when you get bored with it snd realize it cant safely pass over dotted lines (too slow if theres even far away oncoming traffic.) Even the 650 is just way too slow. If youre gonna use it as anything other than a little toy, get at least a zx6r.

Bro u paid like $30 per horsepower. The thing is you only needed to add 50 horsepower… but if u have a warranty good for a few years then 9k for a 0 miles engine isnt bad at all.

3k difference in price is a big deal.

The fact this is even asked or a video exists about this at all for the Ninja 400 is dumb. People asked this about the Ninja 250, and I commuted for years 2 hours a day on it between Long Beach and Pasadena.

I bought a new r6 back in 2003 for the same price as this. Crazy. 3 years later, i would buy a new r1 for 12k. Im glad i did but eventually youre going to die. 6 years on the streets was plenty for me!

Never mind the nay sayers , the - you could of would of hopped on one leg and shît on one hand and would have been cheaper, comments. $9K for a professional, reasonable, maybe scalable build is more than fine. You can also go back re-tune or focus on other aspects of the build or quality of life.
