roosterslime4119 max is crazzzzzyyyyy
Not a fan of electric guitar in a big band unless it's an acoustic guitar comping 4 to the bar a la Freddy Green. The sound doesn't integrate well and it serves no purpose in the rhythm section.
that’s your opinion
Is it me or did anyone know that the trombone soloist was fucking sick asf, like holy shit! jeez!!
Andrew Karboski is the man. We had the same private teacher back in the day :)
That piano intro is amazing
It's good but I still like the original better "if it don't mean a thing then it ain't mean a thing
“If it don’t mean a thing then it ain’t mean a thing
the best! New World School of the Arts!
Can’t believe this band got 2nd place...
Seriously??? That vocal...
The saxophone/trumpet/trombone solos were by Max Goldschmid, and the vibes solo was by Gib Mandish i believe. But this song is insane, and they did an excellent job on it.
Are you sure these are kids? Lol
Wow....high school kids??? They were perfect
I went to Ballard High Always a great music school. Proud of you kids! Still playing tenor and baritone
Did the trumpets just hit a high G to High F# just above High C at the end?
Landed on a high F#
BRUH. THIS IS SO PERFECT
that alto player is cold
the tenor took the cake on this one
How is that kid that good on three instruments, like why not me how what
fuuuuuuuuuuuck!! that sexy trumpet solo doe!
Who is the Tenor Saxophone player and where is he today????
he plays the alto, not the tenor.
all the solos were cold as hell
That guitar played the heart of the cool school. Soulful, lots of space, a deep marimba type tone...wow!
Appears to be Antonio Madruga on piano. Watch this man!
amazing
Wow gorgeous
this is one of the baddest high school bands I've ever seem you guys are seriously awesome
I thought the guitarist was killing, improvised or not... The Whole band was on point
The guitarist tore it up on this one, good job!
YEAAA
one is three!!!!
Is that the same guy soloing on trombone and trumpet???
Yes chodar.
Hey wait a second... didn't you play bass bone for jazz house this year?
I played 3rd. But yeah
Breh. You are fantastic. How old are you? You look so young!
wow they played this piece awesome.
There's no way this is hs lol
holy shit
ikr
@tomblizzard
Many student jazz bands change rhythm section players so that more people get a chance to play
+David Chodor Thanks for the clarification, David!
I was unaware of this and am now glad that I know.
the pianist played the sax too
Awesome. Why did they change keyboard players?
Because the keyboard player with the solo also played in a saxophone later in the song. 4:17
;-;
YES! Now THAT is a vibist. Hope to play vibes on that stage with the Osceola County School for the arts jazz band one day
He didn't prepare his solos.
@Alessandro Villatoro yea if its the black one ur referring 2
Alessandro Villatoro same 😂😂😂
Alessandro Villatoro who? Sergio’s?
Alessandro Villatoro 2012
You guys were superb, well done. Roosevelt High School Jazz Ensemble should be very proud of yourselves.
