Good day, sir! My Lenovo Ideapad l3's maximum capacity for memory/RAM is 16gb and I just want to ask, what would happen if I put a memory exceeding the maximum capacity? Because my laptop already has 4gb of ram and I just bought a 16gb ram and I was wondering if I could just put the 16gb on the extra slot or should I remove the 4gb before putting in the 16gb of ram? Thank you!
First remove the 4gb then pit 12 gb

I go to market and upgrade from 2 gb to 4gb extra ram...😢 Then its not opening 😭..pc not turning on

Say, If your PC has 2 RAM slots, why not install 2, 8GB sticks for Dual Channel? Why 4 and 16? Is the 4 not removable?
Usually its soldered onto the board so ur left with only 1 slot
Say you combined a 16gb stick with a 8 gb stick, would you still be able to get dual channel? Im looking to upgrade but im not sure if I should get another 8gb stick or a 16gb stick (right now I have one 8 gb stick)
@@yourlocalfbi3083 I now have an Acer Aspire 5, i-5, with this RAM configuration. 4 GB on the board, you can put an 8 GB or 16 GB so-dimm in the only RAM slot. I just ordered a 16 GB so-dimm to MAX out my RAM at 20 GB. Cheers!
