Grab your worn-out shoes and analyze the results yourself 👇 1️⃣ Do you see extra wear on the side of your shoe near your Big Toe? It might be due to overpronation, where your foot rolls inward excessively as you walk, potentially leading to hip pain, inflammation, or plantar fasciitis. 2️⃣ Notice extra wear on the shoe's outer edge by your Pinkie Toe? Your feet lack adequate rolling into the arches when walking or running due to high arches, leading to poor shock absorption and potential issues like Achilles tendinopathy or hip/knee pain. 3️⃣ What can heel wear patterns tell you? In a normal walking style, wear occurs at the outer heel and below the first and second toes. Overpronators exhibit more wear in the middle or inner edge of the heel, while supinators show tread wear along the outer heel edge, with their shoes tilting outward when placed on a flat surface. 4️⃣ Does your left shoe wear out differently than your right shoe? Asymmetrical wear patterns from right to left mean there is an imbalance in your walking pattern. You might be using your other leg more or differently. 5️⃣ Excessive toe wear is from increased push-off during toe-off from walking fast, or lack of hip flexor engagement to assist in propulsion.
