5:35 "It may take a minute or two to dowload..." It may also take a day or two! I've done this a couple of times on two separate computers. It definitely takes more than a couple of minutes.

Great video since Rockwell automation terminology is misleading. I'm doing a conversion from a kinetix 300 to the kinetix 5100, and the terminology is a pain from old to newer.

Hi, I'm currently working on this exact problem of analyzing CIP packets and read its data. This helped me in switch configuration but I wasn't able to understand how to read the data, it would be really really helpful if you can provide any more resources for the same.

Nice job Lorenzo! This configuration software kinda sucks, the definitions for each Index and how to call the index to run, set the encoder resolution for units in Gear Ratio, wacky stuff like that I wouldn't have figured out.

This video is like a "new revelation" to me. All that I knew about AB servo was programming using RSLogix5000 or Studio 5000. Just a few days ago I was searching for information on servo programming and a video came across. On it, a guy explains how to program a Kinetix 350 with the same software used in this video. I had never seen something like this before. Moreover, it explains that no PLC is needed to program the servo drive and run it. Amazing! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience.

It would be beneficial for the US to adjust their planning laws to streamline the installation of solar PV systems. Look to Australia for how to streamline solar - it's so simple & cheap compared to the 'States. Saul Griffiths said they are the best solar laws in the world. I believe it having looked at the US situation. Installed solar is around $1000 AU / $US 700 kW of installed panels completed & generating. That's a target right there!

Any thoughts on Rockwell's Common Industrial Protocol (CIP)? Not sure how it differs from EtherNet/IP, but I believe it's implemented at the Application layer of the OSI model. I'd like to play with an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix 5580 by interfacing to it with a Stm32 microcontroller.. unfortunately, the open source projects I've found (EIPStackGroup / OpENer ), appear to have been abandoned before completing CIP :(
