Im glad i watched this. You guys got some good videos. There were places we didn't even see. ❤
Nice videos! beautiful old complex!!
Yes they are! And thank you
eagles boo
Sad to know what is about to happen to it now that it's known about 😢
Sad to see Centralia go.
So many times I've driven back there but didn't know it was vacant? I don't remember the windows being boarded up either. I'm assuming the resident passed away? It sucks that someone can't buy it due to the state owning the rights. Any other history on the home? Thanks!!
It was the home of John Lokitis' parents house. His mom passed away in April of this year.
Video laggy bud
Love it

There was a handful of guys , we rode together thru the 80s, we stopped outside Shamokin to smoke a joint and have a cigarette. While goofing around one guys brand new helmet got knocked of his bike and dinged on the asphalt. He was heartbroken. It became known as The Smokin And Jokin In Shamokin Incident
That a great story thank you for sharing
You go to jail
@@jamessimmons3645 we did not, we got high and rode fast thru the twisty roads of central pa
Thats a 2 alarm fire? What is on the first, a brush truck?
The black over red rear-mount aerial trucks remind me of the new mid-mount Pierce tower truck Williamsport ordered, purchased, l took delivery of, and placed into service recently.
The one lower or higher up? Higher is a KME 100' from Rescue Fire Shamokin. One lower is a 2020 Pierce Asendant 107' Ladder with a 505 gal tank, and a 2000gpm pump. Full complement of Hurst e-draulics, rope rescue, and more. Ralpho Fire Company Overlook. (I chauffeured it that day)
The chainsaw heard in the video is in the hands of a firefighter on the roof performing a task called vertical ventilation. Vertical ventilation is performed to allow smoke and heat in the cockloft (attic space) to escape the building and improve interior conditions for crews inside the building. It also slightly compromises roof integrity.
Wow that's a lot of equipment for a small house fire. Is that a normal response or is it because of it's rural location? Jusit asking. Nice video.
I'm not sure I'll have to let one of the local firefighters answer that one
Coal twp has 6 stations (6 engines and 1 rescue between them all) their first alarm brings all of them. 2nd alarm brings in ladders 32, 294, 200 RIT, and Eng 33 or 51 and Rescue 62 from mutual aide. Unfortunately, with dwindling volunteers, more stations are needed to bring in adequate manpower. We could talk consolation here, but that's a whole different topic and longer discussion.
@@eriksantor9125 Thanks for the explanation.I just wondered if it was a manpower or water issue.
Thanks everyone for the 👍 i really appreciate it
Dude are you walking to the scene? That’s dedication bro!! That’s how I started when I was a kid. 🚒 🔥
Yeah I do park a good distance away to keep out the way if I drive and to also not get blocked in this one I was already out working on another video
I just sub I am a member fire station I’m trying to be exterior do you cover Lebanon Pennsylvania? What do you cover?
I cover everything not just fires but typically in shamokin All the way to Ashland I cover fires here and there
@@jeffcrum22 come to Lebanon pa and Hershey pa and get the fire calls
Dustin weese cover's that area very well @@Ryanb1998
I’ve been to Ashland and Shamokin. I was in Shamokin last football season when the Mounties lost to the Steamrollers in the PIAA Class 1A State Semifinal round. My trip to Ashland took me to the Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine, which is a real mine that collapsed years ago. Also on the property are a replica bootleg mine and a real strip mine. A historic 0-4-0 “lokie” takes you around the mountain to the strip mine and replica bootleg mine. I learned there that Ashland isn’t far from Centralia, which is the only near-ghost town I’ve visited. Centralia’s ongoing mine fire dilemma has led to many of the homes and other structures there being forcefully taken and demolished under eminent domain. Eventually, Centralia will no longer exist after the last house is demolished after the homeowner dies. Once the last Centralian is dead and their home is gone, Centralia itself will be a ghost town with only the fire station and hilltop church remaining.
If you’d like to come up to my area, which is the greater Williamsport metropolitan area, I can teach you to identify many of the Lycoming County fire and EMS tones so you can determine which calls to cover, such as the occasional fluff pile fire at Penn Recycling and some of the still alarm boxes transmitted around the county and the city of Williamsport. And if you want to cover the annual Little League Grand Slam parade next year, West Fourth Street in Williamsport is on the parade route, as the parade passes the historic Genetti Hotel & Suites.
51 is west end houses in rescue last I herd
Thanks for the information
Running in place of City 33.
Not bad for dead of night
Yeah that orange s*** is sulfur we got places like that here in Athens Ohio
There are cleaner ways to do it's settling ponds
Looks like pollution to me. Gotta get away from coal completelySO MANY RENEWABLES
That ended up being a pretty big fire air drops all day and 2nd alarm engine company's were called in
I learned about it from school I wasn't alive yet
Humbling
Humbling
I will never forget
Cool...?
Nah what the
It a memorial for the firefighters who went in to the twin towers to save people and died , what is confusing
Nature takes it all back quick. In 100 years it'll be hard to tell that Centralia ever existed
Great job 👍
If you go in the bush on the east side of Mount Carmel north of the Centralia highway the coal company there has build up a huge mound of dirt. I would get the best sunsets there around this time of the year. You can access with a 4wd truck or 4 wheeler if you don't want to walk.

Thanks!
