Absolutely love this bike! I wanted a proper trail bike that could both blast down trails as well as climb efficiently. aaaaand i got both alright! I am so impressed with the geometry, the "S" sizing, even the stock suspension! I wanted to test the bike as is before swapping anything major out. After riding it, there's not much I need to do. Off the showroom floor the Stumpy Comp Alloy is a tra...

GoPro Hero 8 and Santa Cruz Flow Trail!👌🏽
This is tru;y an accurate review. Most reviews I see are watered down and designed o sell you the bike without giving you a true feel of what to expect. Thank you.
The sound of tires on whatever surface youre riding on is just 👌👌
Now I want to hear pure tire noise of knobby tires on pavement! Also those trails look like a dream!!
Are you guys still doing these?
Shon is 5’8 likes the S3 Don is 6'2 likes the S5 I myself own the Stumpjumper comp carbon S4 with 5'10 in Switzerland ;) Cheers guys
DT Swiss with grease is also silent. 😂
Awesome trails.
Wow that’s really nice, you can hear all 👌🏻
That hub is amazing dude!
Curious how tall you are? Wondering about s3 vs s4 for me (5’10)
Still have ? Have you compare vs Hightower?
Watching this video without hearing any noise from the hubs is akin to ASMR. I feel so relaxed hearing the tyres clinch the trail! Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines! #KeepBiking
hey cool young dude. So how do you like the Vesper two years later? I have bought Vesper and getting ready to build and want your input. Thanks.
How do you like yours so far?
Love the Vesper. Quiet and no problems with it. @@fe9523
Are you still running these? How is reliability? Do you notice the "Sponginess" at engagement?
A new level i dont think so sb150 brill stick to yeti
Am I right thinking this whole video was about size comparison and not once was either of your heights mentioned?
I don’t like snappy handling on bikes love my enduro best bike I’ve ever ridden
So did ya swap? I have an enduro and I’m cute fly considering the swap
If I was going to spend 500$ on a rear hub, it would probably be an onyx. Nothing beats the aesthetic sound of tires on dirt. I wouldn't ever bother replacing a front one though, and 500$ is too much money for a hub. I spent half that on my whole wheelset.
why not replace the front hub?
it is overpriced a bit
So if you have to pick just one. Which one?! Every time I think I’ve decided, I watch more videos lol. Help! 😩
Do these vesper hubs make or help the wheel turn quicker? IE when free rolling dh or down a road?
they have specific dh specific hubs
Why do your bars look backwards
Axs dropper..!!! You should add the axs eagle too!
How tall was the rider on the S4? Did it feel like a good size for your height?
Where is this?
I had ridden both bikes too,but I own and S4 Enduro. One of my best ridding friend got a Megatower at the same time I got my Enduro. In the first side by side runs,I liked more the Megatower than the Enduro. But the Enduro needed another kind of ridding, way more aggressive. Once I learn that, the Enduro is an absolute weapon, totally balance grip but still nimble. Cornering is way faster and easy that any other bike I know&test and straight lines you could tank any obstacle 0 drama. Best thing it pedals really well for a big long bike,it is a fast bike doing whatever, and that is not a thing you could said about many enduro bikes, doing very well anything.
I was going to say what a sweet trail, then I realized that's up near the confluence and I live 45 minutes away..sweet mary of mother thank you! Also, considering the Vesper :)
IDK, quiet hub sounds like a good idea, but my hub is my speedometer lol. Looks like some nice riding up there!
Great video! I just picked up the Stump Comp Carbon and I’m bottoming out to often. Going to try some tokens in the fork and shock and hopefully that helps and I don’t regret not going with the Evo. I love the bike otherwise.
@CHELSKI9 On the carbon models more than likely due to how the flex stay is designed. I cannot speak for the alloy though!
I picked up the Carbon Expert last spring... How is the shifting on yours?
I am thinking about an Onyx hub. Do you find pedal kickback to be a problem?
“If you don’t want a new bike, I would suggest not riding either of these” about 4 months ago I demoed out in auburn… I now have an evo on the way😂
Where are these trails? I live near Reno.
These trails are in auburn, I was there the other day, and they rock.
What is you hearing? Everything, but no hubs.
I’ve just bought the stumpy expert which is perfect for my local trails but do you think it can handle the bike parks with black runs and bigger jumps etc?
Thanks for the video. I can’t wait to finish my build with the S-Works oak green frame. Still waiting on a Fox 36 grip 2 fork that should arrive in another week and the build will finally be done.
How do you like it with a 36?
@@kentao4 I like it so far. I wanted a stiff front end for steep descents. I have the 150 mm travel so it doesn’t throw off the geometry. I’ve been riding it in the low position and it climbs surprisingly well.
Nice trails!
I bought one of the Stumpjumper Comp Carbon models and it’s such a Swiss army knife. Having a background in racing DH and doing shuttle runs, this was the first “trail” bike I’ve purchased and a complete change from what I’m used to. With many of the trails in the Oregon Cascades, you definitely have to earn your turns and I wanted something I could climb on and I have to say, it ascends and descends equally well and I’ve even hit some bigger jumps/features with it without any problem at all. I just firm up the suspension a bit and let er rip!
I measure 1.70 and use a S2 it's a super nimble machine
thankyou for confirming my next bike, hope to have one ordered in july!!!!
Cool video. After paying my dues on my great Rockhopper for 18 months, I believe I'm now ready to move to a Stumpjumper (but, I'm keeping my Rockhopper, too). In your opinion, is there a significant performance difference between the Alloy Comp and Carbon Comp that you know and/or have experienced? I can get either (and am leaning toward the Carbon), but is there that much of a difference I would notice here in Texas (with its usual 50/50 encounters of smooth and gnarly trails)? Appreciate your help.
Random questions but what comes in the box for the swat compartment feel like I’m missing some stuff
Damn. You got some serious skills yo!
Thanks Yo!
Was the Standard Stumpy an alloy or a carbon frame with the flexstays? No Hosrt link must feel different.
Carbon! It felt really good
you kept the bikes in high / middle position or... great video, btw, thanks!
How does alloy compares?
So two of us are on carbon and our other partner is on alloy. He says the alloy is best bike he’s ridden.
I’m 5ft7 and right between S3 and S2. The specialized web sight is recommending a S2. There’s a shop with a S3 a 3 hour drive in one direction and a shop with a S2 2.5 hours in the other direction, should I go for the S2 and hope it works or the S3? Lol tricky decision and I’m super conflicted. Definitely don’t want to drive to one, like it then try the other and like the first one more. Any recommendations for sizing would be appreciated, thanks guys!
Great video, I just got the stumpy so and love it. Do you recommend any upgrades or have suggestions for it? I'm new to suspension bikes... thanks
Which level did you get?
I got the new stumpjumper alloy, ive so far put an absolute black chainring and protector on, with some cosmetic stuff such as new grips and pedals on it
Such a great bike! Hope you are digging it.
Where did u rent the bike been thinking of trying the stumpy giant tranceX and the hightower.
We met up with the rep, but victory Velo could get you on one. Also we will have em at our dirt daze event free of charge.
@@mtbnorcal8 when is the event
