    Those hens are diligent & relentless. The earwigs (…and ticks, spiders, grasshoppers, crickets, beetles…) don’t stand a chance. I almost pity them creepy critters. 😂

      Ha ha. They are pretty great! A few years ago at our old house, grasshoppers we're decimating our garden. I made tunnels for the chickens to go down the rows, and the grasshoppers were gone within a few days.

      These are different than chokecherries. We have those here too. They are much more sour and take a lot of sugar to make syrup. These are huckleberries and are a wild blueberry. They're much sweeter and don't have a seed.

      Our dehydrator doesn't have a temperature setting. The Internet says it is like between 125 and 165 degrees. It took about twelve hours to dry.

      ​@@familyfunhomesteadingandDIY don't pay attention to them- it was a great video. We used a similar technique to get stubborn T-posts out of the ground (decomposed granite absolutely won't let go of those things if the ground is dry), and it works great!

    Sprinkle some treats to where ya want, also if you hold a towel stretched creating a wall between your legs you can corral chickens easily.

      It's so frustrating! We're in the best water year we've seen in years with most of our reservoirs completely full. The issue is a fight between ground water farmers versus surface water irrigators. They are fighting because our aquifers under ground are low. So sad for 500,000 acres of farmers.

      Yeah, it's so sad. They've turned off the water to 500,000 acres of farmland in Idaho. I'm very worried for them. We're going on two weeks without water and no agreement in sight.

      It just depends. Sometimes they go quickly and other times it takes forever. I think part of it is how many other people in the area are trying to sell at the same time.

      They are standard Rex rabbits. They have the softest fur of any rabbit breed. They make great pets but can also be used as meat rabbits if desired.

      The run is still connected to the coop, so they sleep in that. It keeps them safe at night. We've used the tunnel all last summer and fall and haven't had any losses. We have lots of hawks, owls, and a few eagles that fly around, and it is great for protecting from aerial predators. Things like skunks and raccoons haven't be brave enough to come during the day either.
