Glimpse into Horse Slaughter - Eagle Pass, Texas (raw video)
Investigators with Wild Horse Freedom Federation/Equine Welfare Alliance spent several days down in Eagle Pass, Texas documenting events prior to slaughter horses being sent to Mexico for slaughter. Video shows horses being loaded for slaughter and them crossing over the border into Mexico, paperwork check by Gov. Official, going to weigh station and trucks coming into pen with slaughter horses. This is raw video taken in Jan 2015.

Thousands of horses each year go to slaughter in Mexico for human consumption. This is nothing new as horses have ALWAYS been going to slaughter in Mexico prior to the slaughter houses closing in the United States.

I hate slaughter for all animals, but how many of you here protesting against if for horses eat cow, pig and sheep.......no difference and if you want to stop it then change your diets, because if everyone moved to a plant based diet there would be no slaughter and a far healthier and saner population of humans!
i live in an area where we have wild horses. BLM has removed almost ALL of them! we have only 79 left! some people buy here KNOWING we have wild horses, yet complain when the horses rub on their fence and such! It is appalling! then BLM comes out and set traps and rounds them up for removal! my heart can not take this evil these people inflict!

His impact on the enfironment has been not on conservation of wildlife and animals which is so very sad. Horses and wild animals should be protected for future genratiopns. If we dont, all of the species will die out and then what will happen to the planet? There is no need to round up and sell wild horses for slaughter or pharmacedical drugs. Even race horses face sad endings.

In Nov 2011, President Obama signed into law a spending bill that restored the American horse-slaughter industry. In 2018 alone, approximately 80,000 American horses were trucked over our borders to be slaughtered for human consumption. Until this practice is banned and Congress passes a law against slaughter here in the U.S., no horse is safe.

Starving horses, emaciated horses, these do not make money when slaughtered. It's a myth that only the neglected are sent to slaughter. These are all culls from some idiots' over-breeding program. Thanks to the rodeo circuit, there are lots and lots of horses available to slaughter.
can you prove it? C.Erickson, DVM. These don't look like horses for slaughter to me although I do not claim it doesn't occur. These particular horses look too well bred. I would love to know your sources of info. I've been involved with this issue for some time. And speaking as a vet, having regulated slaughter in the US more available, there would be a lot less horse suffering.
