Girl, so the reason you didn’t get any color pay off is because you can’t put a color on top of a color. You’ll never get the right shade. If you want an actual color to show up, you’ve got to bleach the dark color. Lightening it first, will give you some color. Also, splat is the WORST way to go. I mean, box dye is never the way to go, but ESPECIALLY not splat. Splat is impossible to get out of your hair, it’s gonna take some major fixing to get it back to a normal color from this point now unless you were to just throw a permanent brown color with some red in it to tone out the green. The biggest issue with boxed dye is the developer that comes with them. They never label the developer, so you never know what volume it is which is vital to know while going through this process. You’ll spend the same amount of money on a couple boxes of dye, as you would getting a big bottle of the correct volume developer for what you want (which will last you several several color &/or bleach sessions!) and a professional semi permanent or permanent color.
