Colin Baker reads The Pandorica Speech (Doctor Who)
02/07/15 at the Dallas Comic Con in Irving Dallascomiccon.com
I asked the 6th Doctor Colin Baker to do the Pandorica Speech at his Q and A. I apologize for the shaky camera, my sister is not the best cameraman.
I must say Colin Baker is an absolute delight. He's a very nice man, and I enjoyed meeting him :)

I'm giving this one top marks. he sells the "I am talking!" makes the "your little guns" really pointed, and is just scary in general.
wow reading it like this, 1st time off , brilliant, well done colin
Colin delivers it like a teacher telling you off.
He removed the the “worth a damn” from the speech. Lol that’s so cute he didn’t want to curse not even “damn”
"One thing that I have remained in all my life is a pragmatist..... But in this incarnation, MORE SO!" *Sirens of time*
So obviously Eleven was channeling Six during that speech...
Brilliant! Thanks!
Matt Smith does it with swagger, Sylvester McCoy with impish charm and Paul McGann with quiet indignation: Colin brings edge and authority.
Loud and eye bleeding coat aside, Colin's Doctor was the one who seemed most willing to drop the hammer hard if he had to. And as abrasive and full of himself as he could be, he had the skills to back it up with some big "@#&% around and find out" energy.
@@steampunker7 I will add to this a bit. The difference between the collin baker doctor who was on TV most of the time and the Colin baker doctor who is on all the big finish productions and who gives that one speech about corruption is the gravitas. A lot of the time 6 felt like he was just mean because he felt like it, but here, a slight change in demeanor, and it's suddenly "I'm still the same, kind doctor who protects, but I've decided to stop playing nice. You've angered me, now we see where that goes". It's righteous fury instead of arrogance.
@@githyanki1899 "A good man goes to war..." indeed.
I really need Jodie Whittaker to try this.
We need the War Doctor and the doctor from the Doctor Who movie TV special
There's a Paul McGann version on RUclips.

Now we need the great one TOM Baker doing this! I love big finish Colin got a bum run on tv but sure proved himself after!
Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone could actually make a video of the 6th Doctor in visual format doing this speech?
Sounds just like his doctor. Also shows Matt Smith’s improve.
"Because I am talking!" and with that, I'm convinced this speech fits Colin's doctor way more than it ever fit Matt's.
He is my favorite forever <3 <3 <3
This speech kind of fits the ego-driven 6th doctor even better, this is him showing that he has a very good reason to think so greatly of himself. Though I imagine between the "I am Talking bit" and the next line the 6th doctor would have brought down all the pilots from the ships to talk to them face to face.
Colin's acting is on complete take-the-piss form 100% of the time. In a good way obviously.
I love how Colin always deliver. It's a cold reading, the sort of histrionic nature of the new series don't really fit his character that much and he could easily get away with just reciting the script in a half assed way to save face, but you can tell he actually tries and all of his Classic Doctor reads x videos are great. Glad Big Finnish did him justice.
So very good.
Wow, he nails this.
my fave doctor,owning the speech
Okay, I'm convinced, The Pandorica Opens should've been a Colin Baker story. He did the speech, somehow, with more believability and more in character than Matt Smith.
Nah in terms of classic Doctors I actually think Sylvester McCoy's version is much better, followed by Matt Smith, not saying Colin's isn't good I'm just stating a personal preference, mostly because I loved Sylvester's loud powerful "HELLO STONEHENGE"
I just rewatched the actual episode, and I have to say, you are 100% right. Colin did it blind without any direction or prior reading and still managed to do the speech with more believability and character than Matt. Colin is such a superb actor and Doctor. (I mean no offense to Matt, either; it's more of a testament to Colin's talent than anything else.)
It's funny, I think ANY Doctor would make a good fit for that story. That's what makes it so good!
"But bad news everyone: 'Cause guess WHO?" Monsters: Oh sh*t! It's the angry one! RUN!
a hahhahahaahahh laughed
No 9:00 is the angry one this is the slightly more crazy and egotistical than normal one
@@plantainsame2049 Colin definitely has some anger about him too. I'd say Colin is more of an egotistical anger, whereas Chris is more of a depressive anger
I was here
It takes him a bit to get into character, but he's killing it by the end.
Problem is, this became 'trendy' after McCoy did it at a convention -- it was a planned part of the panel -- he was given the speech in advance. As far as all I know, all the other videos are on-the-spot readings. Nicely done, all things considered, but I feel for the actors who are essentially being given a pop quiz.
This was awesome.
