Hi and thank you for your comment. As you can see I uploaded this video in 2019 so things may have improved over the years. Back then air conditioning was not very effective, therefore the capsule was pretty much hot.

Yes,Adz Airlines direct fly to Baku does still exist,a bit expensive but way better than others with very long and uncomfortable layovers. I wish l visited Baku asap,l have been to lstanbul twice and absolutely loved it,it feels like Baku has something in common with it😊. Cannot wait to go and visit there😊. It was actually if compared to the service but this capsule hotel was cheaper than many hotels around the airport.

Hi. I used to a have a decent-paying job (customer care) and some financial help by a person very close to me. But the pandemic has turned my life upside down. So, for the time being my trips are good memories of a past that will never come back :-/ or at least I think so.

Cape Verde is the right mix of cultures where the result is a stress-free environment, this is why I loved. Santa Maria was crowded by us the tourists, but still genuine. You miss Cape Verde, well I can relate :-). Hope everything is good with your life in the US

Hi Thomas, thank you for your comment. Well, prior to my departure I collected some information about Belfast airports and I red that Belfast City serves mainly domestic routes across the UK. I didn't check any further, to be honest. I know that Belfast International is located outside of Belfast municitpality (just like Milan-Bergamo/Bergamo Orio al Serio is found 40 km away from Milan in the province of Bergamo) but I think it can be considered as aprt of Belfast as its named after the city. In 2017 Belfast International was the 10th largest airport in the UK (5.8 mln passengers) with the second being London Gatwick (45.5 mln passengers). It's the 2nd busiest airport in Ireland (Republic of Ireland+Norther Ireland) after Dublin Aiport (31.3 mln passengers in 2019).

Hi Luis, thank you for your comment and for providing more information about Cabo Verde Airlines. I didn't understant that the company is now owned by Icelandair. Actually, during boarding I spotted an Icelandair aircraft on the apron, and I was pretty much surprised. A passenger in line next to me said Cabo Verde Airlines had borrowed some planes from Icelandair, but his explanation didn't convince me.

@@lorenzor4024 Cabo Verde Airlines or TACV transportes aéreos de Cabo Verde, former name before they became a private company.The government transferred the management to Icelandair as a first step towards privatization. In order to fullfil the contract they deployed two or three aircraft to the islands to serve main destinations.The fleet now is completed with 5 Boeing 757 from Icelandair and 4 ATR 42-500

I knew TACV underwent massive restructuring but I missed out on the deal with Icelandair. It's interesting that the turnaround of Cabo Verde Airlines could bring together such different countries. Based on what I saw during my stay in Sal the agreement seemed succesful.

I think you are right. Cabo Verde Airlines went through recent restructuring, so I assume they kick-started the company from the basics. As per the future of IFE, I red different articles about it but I couldn't come to an ultimate conclusion. Some experts say IFE will be still around, yet others think airlines will phase in a bring-your-device policy. Let's see...

next-door traveler I’m ok with the idea of bringing my proper IFE. Company IFE is useless regarding the cost and the weight. In place company should offer internet onboard wich permit streaming, like Lufthansa, for free. And bring tablets for the one that don’t have.

@@TheBILOXY I agree. IFE is quite expansive to manage. Therefore I believe airlines will find it more profitable to provide passengers with powerful wi-fi and devices. I think the 5G will make this switch pretty much easy.

Hi, thank you for your comment! Why did you have a bad experience at SID? What happened? I found it strange though funny that the airport was totally empty when I got there. On the positive note, I took only ten minutes to check-in and pass through security and passport control.

Not the airport inself, but a TACV flight experience. After leaving the airport, the airplane had a technical failure and had tô retorno quickly to this airport. Literally the airplane almost crashed into the ocean. After all, we had to wait 13 hours to leave the airport again. Any support the TACV gave us. The problem ia not the airport; the problem os Cabo Verde airlines. Dont fly TACV.

The B757-200 was quiet. In my video it may seem a little bit noisy but I guess that's because of the camera I use; it's quite sensitive. Actually, I could easily take a nap during the flight. I wish you a nice flight with Cabo Verde Airlines!

Actually, I don't know whether you can book a night right there at the automated check-in counter. I booked online and I think this is the only way you can have a capsule. In addition, I suggest you book at least a week in advance in order to get a better price.

I'm sorry about that. 85 euros is a lot of money. I just carried my hand baggage, so I didn't know the fares for checked baggage. I wish you a nice flight, anyway.

@@N330AA Yes I think it is. I am not a check-baggage expert, actually as I often fly with one backpack only. As per Cabo Verde Airlines I found it pretty much cheap, considering there are no other options if you look for direct flights between Italy and Cape Verde.

Hi Freidany, thank you for your comment. While I was booking my flights I noted that Cabo Verde Airlines discontinued the old name TACV and therefore I thought a bankruptcy had occured. I was wrong actually, as TACV went through only restructuring and privatisation.

@@lorenzor4024 They were indeed in serious financial struglle.Icelandair was the salvation.The debt was huge and well above government's capacity to handle it.

@@LFMC1 I can imagine how hard it was for the former TACV and the government to handle such a difficult situation. In the end, I think they did the right thing. This move gave the new Cabo Verde Airlines hope of recovering and possibly growing in the future. Here in Italy, our former flag carrier is in a similar situation to TACV. Alitalia has been long on the verge of bankrupcty but for purely political reasons politicians have always tried to bail it out by using taxpayers' money. Over the years, this policy has made things even worse. Alitalia has become less competitive, less valuable and has kept losing ground against its competitors.

As per Alitalia, it was a global player up until the early 1990s. The point is that while the world was changing Italy tried to stick to the golden age we had in the 1980s. Many government-run companies faced hard times but some of them went through restructuring and turned around (Trenitalia is one of them). This has never been the case for Alitalia and yes, the company has been losing money for nearly two straight decades.

@@lorenzor4024 So I can finally give you my feedback on this flight... which unfortunately has been my least pleasant flight experience so far. My flight had a 3h30 minutes delay leaving Rome. I was supposed to catch a connecting flight once in Sal to go to Dakar. That second flight had 6h30 min delay, without zero explanation. It was very disapointing to be honest. I'm glad though that you had a better experience.

And what about your connecting flight to Dakar, could you claim compensation for the inconvenient? However, thank you very much for telling your story. Totally. I believe we are getting used with the same boring service on European carriers, so seeing other airlines services in different continents is a lot more interesting.

I agree; less familiar carriers are more interesting as you don't know exactly what your experience will be. Global players tend to look more mainstream.

@@socaexpress Actually i took this company who was buy i think last year by Iceland Air and i promise you will not be desapointed.. i took it last month and i will take it again on december and for real the Food is really good. And the flight is ok. You should just take few books or movie on your telephone to be ok..
