I like the minus flare skirts look, great looking paint. I have a 1990 HDJ81 from Japan and now want another LC 80 series. Maybe even an LX450 if I can find one.

@@tampacruisers nah, that's where it peaked. the petrol engines paired with these behemoths turn them into gas guzzling behemoths not worth daily driving, relegating them to hobby car status. the diesel variants are the better versions of the 80 series, lockers or no lockers.
Apples to Oranges. To each their own. I own both options and still prefer the Gas / 4speed version. Just make sure to enjoy your unit!
@@tampacruisers except it's not, it's the same vehicle, an awesome one...with two different engine variants, one is superior, one is inferior and for the reason mentioned previously; one has more utility than the other, the diesel one that is. I bet the gas one is not your daily driver, assuming both of them aren't hobby cars to begin with and if they are then your point is moot as the cons aren't something u have to deal with regularly.

I really want an 80 series but in the UK they all seem to be in poor condition (and extraordinarily expensive) because of our winters and the salt ruins them
Yea the ones in countires that have continental climates are rust buckets or rust buckets in the making. The best kept ones are in south America, Australia and south Africa. Full stop.

Hey David!! Hazard switch have the same plug in as a Diff Lock switch, and it is widely available vs the diff lock switch.
