In the video, I mentioned how to figure out the space between the grooves. Here it is:
We have 5 grooves, each at 1/4” for a total of 1-1/4” (or 5/4.”). I have a space of 3-1/2” to work with, so subtract 1-1/4” from 3-1/2" and we come up with 2-1/4.” There are a total of 4 gaps, so divide 2-1/4" by 4 and we come up with 9/16". So there’s exactly 9/16” of gap between each groove.
You can also say that there are 6 gaps…the 4 gaps plus a gap above the top groove, and a gap below the bottom groove. The total space is 4-5/8”, so Subtract 1-1/4” (which is the total width of the grooves) from ...
