Is that Moai?
@@timgardner3681 yes, she’s changed hands…
I built one of these Wharram cats in 1969. I was 17 years old. Didn't have much money. Spent about $1500.00. Would not go to windward at all. Really needed a dagger board. Was great for learning.
Ahoy!
I was the first to give your video a "like" but it would not register. ???
How do you afford a boat after making the custom trailer???
Looks absolutely beautiful. Motorcycles and boats are my favorite things to be on. Wish I could afford to do it more often lol. Keep enjoying life and stay safe!
Yes, the mast step-up looks great. Simple, strong, and easy to use.
Hi Jeff! Beautiful Tiki. Is this the same mast step setup as Little Cat?? I was going to eventually do the same for my 21.
Hi Nick! Thanks for commenting. I assume you're referring to the tabernackle/mast step fitting. That was fabricated by the prior owner but I love it. Very strong, distributes the force along the supporting crossbeam, and makes raising/lowering a breeze. Not the prettiest thing, but functional. Here is a video of it's details I shot for someone who asked last spring: ruclips.net/user/shortsjmutULOa63o Fair Winds!
@@friendshipsloop Very cool! Looks similar to: tiki21littlecat.blogspot.com/2020/11/new-rig-3-mast-base.html?m=1 I’m going to check out your link now!
Retitle: Me looking important steering my boat. In my expensive jacket. Where’s the sailing?
I was 19 that day. and I was lead to believe my life would be better for the film project that surrounded this ship. the ship SANK, the FILM DIED and we all ruined our lives.
I have a Tiki 26. Do you have any advise ?
Cool
Nice. =)
Awesome, finally a good explanation on how this works. Thanks so much.

Amazing
Nice, never knew that you are a jazz aficionado. Cool tunes from last night.
I’m a bebopper!
Weird. This was so relaxing to watch!
Rockland Maine?
Eye hes goin to pick up some illegals in the Vineyard
Looking good!!
👍⛵🌊🎣💯
Beautiful!
What a beautiful boat and a great day for sailing
Is there a chance you could post a video of the steps it takes to launch your cat using your trailer? I love the design and I'm looking at something similar for my build.
I’ll do that when we launch in a couple of weeks…
I noticed the way you strap the beams looks like a great way to do it
Works great!
I like the beany bag, only on cats
How does it slide with a hull on it ?
It’s not bad…. Two people push at either end of the handle. Takes about 5-10 mins to expand or collapse the hulls.
I had no idea there was a wharram nearby. Is that Faulkner's off your starboard stern?
Yes, it is..! She was kept in Clinton past two seasons. She’s now operating from a dock on the Mystic River.
@@friendshipsloop the inlaws have a place in Indian cove Guilford. If you ever need to let it go let me know,
That day will come, as I’m getting older. In the meantime come for a sail in the spring!
@@friendshipsloop thanks. I'll return the offer. We are building a house on Alligator Point FL. Should be done for next fall. Nothing like the constant gulf winds.
I recently visited a Tiki 26 down there that I’m planning to purchase…. Maybe that’s when you’ll get the 21?
want to go to the island by sailboat wish i could buy the boat
Nice shot. Saturday or Sunday?
Sunday
Love seeing the shy ones coming out of their shell. Love and appreciate each and every talent. Thank you warriors

Thanks for the nice video! I am very interested in your mast step, it's just what I need! Do you have the project or a sketch? I would really appreciate that. Regards, Carlos.
It came with the boat but I can make a scan of it with my phone if you’d like…?
@@friendshipsloop Thank you! I'd really appreciate. And good winds!
Here it is close up
I couldnt figure out how the lidar scanner works so its just a video

ingenious
John Lamb Lash sent me here.
Looks like you had a nice time sailing back from The Thimbles
Saving this for when we are modifying a trailer, thanks!
Tiki 21?
Yes
It's a modified Tama Moana?
Pahi 63
I was there
Me too!
Hi, I was a former postdoctoral student of Carl Beam and would like to have a still picture of him for a lecture I am giving. Would anyone have one that they could send me? Even better if Marion Himes was also in the picture. My email address is: spector@cshl.edu

Deltas trust me you wouldn’t want to see me naked
Good question. The base trailer was old and just cost $300. The custom wirk and all the bits abd pieces were about $4K...
Hi want to modify same for my tiki , how easy is it to pull hull the hulls into position to assemble? i.e. underweight of hulls ?
What did this run you, if you don't mind?!
It was expensive, like $3k, but a lot of that cost was my welder scratching his head about how best to do it. A copy of mine would be less expensive..
Looks great! Was this mostly custom work? Will need to do something similar when I finish my Tiki 21. Thanks.
Scott Jones the base trailer is stock. All the rest custom fabrication...
Great job on the new trailer. The tongue extension and mid wheel is a great idea. Also I like the way you have made the rollers and bunks adjustable. I have been considering ways of improving my trailer for the Mana and will be carefully keeping your trailer design in mind.
Rod McLaren It takes a village..!
lol - he's paranoid!
I was there!!!
