Car Dealer Markups Always Ruin Good Cars!
ICE sedans are a helluva lot more profitable than any EV.
I’m looking at getting one for my next car. There are a couple in my area with 25-40k miles at about 26k for cost. It’s a really nice looking car with enough power.
Try to get one within the warranty window. Otherwise I say go for it
I’m white, I drive a black Chrysler Motown edition. Love it.
I've seen a few of those for sale, they look really nice! Def a sleeper
You leave my focus DCT alone 😂. She is kicking at 218k miles and one clutch replacement.
You also kept saying bring back sedans and all that and that they need to focus on…. Cough bringing back my focus cough. That’s all.
Lol! The people are demanding it.
They ruined a great car because of that transmission. I loved my 2013 except for that transmission. That was the only reason I traded it.
I've heard its a luck of the draw if it holds up or not.
By the way, what is that song that plays in the background of your shows??
The page is @Tatsuspam - He does some really good video game smooth style productions - Love his work
Ewww 😂😂
I would like to them bring back the Lincoln Continental.
The one they just discontinued was nice, but bad timing. I may do a video about that as well.
Disappointing. This is the 2nd time they “killed” the S60, opting to kill the S40 instead last time. I’ve loved Volvos from my first 240 sedan to my 740, 850, and then S60. But they are priced through the roof now and just aren’t affordable for the very people that helped establish them as a brand. Hoping the EX30 will help.
Yes, Volvo is definitely premium nowadays and an automotive pioneer that does not get its flowers.
A really sharp design for a slightly downsized Taurus EV with more passenger space (because EV) at the right price and quality would sell really well (And be a viable export to Europe)
Bring back the fusion sprt with a v6 engine 😤😤😤😤😤😤
The problem (as with other V6 models) was the price.
give me a 2025 Taurus
The V8 Mustang 4 door sedan might be the best bet for now, as people would want to something to be fast, sporty, and reliable. Heck calling it the Falcon may make even more sense as a revival to what we had in the 1970s, or more recently what used to be available in Austrailia. Now is a really good time for Falcon to come into play. Then we evolve to add more sedans back overtime. I personally want the Focus to come next with a better built transmission. I as a college student currently drive a 2014 Ford Focus SE Hatchback (one day I'll get that Mustang). The Focus is a very reliable car with the exception of it's dual clutch 6 seed automatic transmission. If Ford were to use high quality materials in the transmission, then we would be golden! Fusion is a very good contender as welll. Fiesta? Given gas prices are high right now, some people would be up for a compact sedan/hatchback like that. It would probably sell the least out of the other sedans/hatchbacks, but I would imagine they would still be profitable in the US. My mom drives a 2013 Ford Fiesta Titanium Sedan. Both the Focus and Fiesta have been pretty good to us so far. I got the battery and horn replaced in the Focus.
That's good to hear; Sounds like you got one of the better ones. Good news is they're super cheap on the used market.
Ford Mondeo in U.S. Market pwease
I love large body sedans if they bring back 4cyl turbo hybrid or better yet a v6 turbo id be happy.
I'd rather they bring back 6 cyl on midsized sedans/wagons.
Mustang + Pickup Bed = Ranchero
They should make a 2-door version of the maverick then call it the ranchero
The Maverick showed Ford that people want affordable small trucks. Unfortunately the demand is eroding the affordable aspect but it could return to that $22k price tag if competitors enter the market. I could see being in a good position if they seriously focus on sedans as other manufacturers like Subaru are eliminating their sedans.
The Maverick is a bait and switch that nobody talks about lol
there's still people that prefer sedans to Trucks/SUVs for example if vehicles that are higher off the ground make you become motion sick more easily I'm one of those people who prefers sedans to Trucks or SUVs for the reason mentioned above though I don't like smaller compact cars like the Mazda 3 as I get claustrophobic in the backseat where as I don't in a Toyota Corolla or say a Chevrolet Cavalier and def not in midsize cars like a Camry which is almost 2ft longer than a Corolla. though myself personally if I wasn't legally blind I'd probably have learned to drive a manual transmission vehicle in an F-150 pickup truck and an automatic in either a Toyota Camry or Volvo 760
Yea, the price of cars in general makes it harder to justify the purchase - especially brand new with less incentives on sedans.
I have a 1997 e36 sedan(that's a bmw 3 series for those who don't know) that I absolutely LOVE. Even tho the coupes of that year had the EXACT wheel base and everything was the same the sedans stance just looks better overall. The boxey lines that just all fit together perfectly, matched with 50/50 weight distribution...GOD I love that lil car
And simpler in design.
Ford dominated the Police car and taxi market with the crown Victoria. Now they've completely fallen off with these new SUVs that are suffering with reliability issues
Uber/Lyft and FCA definitely had something to do with that.
you forgot to mention how the Ford grandchildren contributed to part of the pre 04 floppage :P there's also the new EPA rules that make anything smaller than a land yaght needs to get morocycle mileage, and anything bigger needs to get subcompact mileage...which doesn't help ANYONE'S bottom line, nowadays. ALL of these guys need to realize, though (EPA INCLUDED!) not all potential buyers are the size of an NBA player that need to drive in a perpetual "frankenstein's monster" pose just to be vaguely comfortable. what the US needs is something in the old Compact size range for older drivers. some of us DO get tired of having to be as stretchy as Simone Biles *just to get in the vehicle*! the US manufacturers ALSO have to realize that transmissions need to be rigged European Style so that the economy peak is reached at CITY average speed, not Interstate.
The Fusion was one of the best cars ever built by a US car maker. Period. They hold up and work really well.
I've seen Fusion Hybrids easily do 200k.
Yo what ab the ford falcon from Australia??
Haven't looked into it, but from my understanding its exclusive to Australia and a few other markets.
@BrakeDownMedia Saying Ford didn't need a bailout is wrong. They took billions of dollars from the government, and still layed off their workforce.
They took it, but they didn't NEED it.
@@BrkDownMedia Ford took over a billion US dollars of tax payer’s money. Why did they took it if they didn‘t need it, and who gave it to them, if it wasn‘t necessary? Also why did they lay off thousands of workforce, if they were financially sound? I think you should investigate this further, instead of spreading false information.
We do remember the dealer mark-ups. We also remember when Nissan defended their dealerships for these practices.
MBAs in charge - lets drop quality to increase profits - no long term problems right????
What era was the $2 billion loss from? If it was from the redesigns of 2013, with the dual clutch transmissions and the '16+ Ford-made 4 cyl engine blocks, yeah, I get it. But those are likely on the heads of Mulally and possibly Fields since it take 3-5 years for something to make it through engineering into production.
after 2014 the eCVT transmissions could last 200000 miles or more.
Sedans should be cheaper, faster and more fuel efficient that SUVs
Get crossovers off the road, they’re uncomfortable, they’re unsafe, they’re expensive, they’re ugly, and are basically only as practical as most mid sized family sedans. Bring sedans and wagons back. Nobody likes SUVs except the people who drive them.
Sales numbers say otherwise
@@Bonanzaking because companies don't make sedans anymore Go watch NotJustBike's video on trucks and SUVs
Yeah companies stopped making them because people can't justify the value proposition of SUVs being within a few thousand dollars of sedans. - Not to mention more incentives behind SUVs less sedans.
7:26 glenn quagmire ahh laugh 😭
Aint it lol
I was gonna write a long list of "what ifs" but its too late for Chrysler and Dodge. I like the new Charger. Really do. But its performance coming from electric will surely make it flop. ChryslerDodgeJeepRam did well putting the hellcat engine in so many vehicles. No other automaker was offering what they were offering with the hellcat engine in so many options to choose from.
I won't say too late, but they've gotta keep consumer demand in mind when making new models.
Bring back sedan production, and end EV production please.
Four door s/b named Falcon or Fairlane. Mustang is a 2 door 🚪🚪
It would be awesome to bring back the falcon name
The US domestic sedan began to fail in the late 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's. The Japanese made smart decisions on size, efficiency, production, and of course price. Our domestic sedans quality was a joke, especially interior materials, layout and ergonomics. Our American sedans should've evolved to be rwd, stylish, and efficient. We love our rwd sedans in the US. Look at the 2005 Chrysler 300, Charger, Teslas model S and 3. Big, stylish rwd sedans
Here's what you do. 1. You make the sedan cheaper 2. Make your sedan a hatchback like the euro Ford Fusion (the Mondeo)
#1 is the point companies keep missing lol
@@BrkDownMedia I mean crossovers more “value” but they are still expensive. If you offer a decent cheap sedan with a hatch, it will sell. I mean I still see people buying Camrys and Accords.
@@anthonybrunotheodd True
4 door coupe.
Very high quality production and underrated channel.
Thank you!
So the saturn ion 3 door? Not a coupe?
I think its actually a coupe with a suicide door.
I went from an 08’ Ford Fusion to my current 2023 Nissan Sentra and I remember when I got my Fusion in 2018 I heard Ford was axing it from their lineup soon. I loved that car.
Better drive it till you can't anymore!
@@BrkDownMedia amen to that!
this is the first time someone has not trashed post 09 Ford that isn't a truck or the coyote I've had luck my daily is a 313,000 focus ST 3rd turbo original motor, my dads transit connect has 250k 2nd trans fine for a used up work van and my mom daily's a 2011 Taurus SHO at 170k the interior does not squeak or rattle and can blow the doors off of that douche in the lease BMW.
I could barely find any marketing material on the SHO, that lets me know it went under the radar.
I welcome not an SUV but more than likely it will be a awd rwd based cvt 4 banger and id there is one recall it's screwed unless it's cheap or the next altima.
There is no such thing as a four door coupe, thats a sedan. A coupe is a two door only. That's like calling a car a hard top even though it has a "B" pillar.
Not true. Look at the Audi A7 or Mercedes CLS..
@@bezoekers For what, they both have four doors (sedan) and they have a "B" pillar. (not a hard top) Look at the 1966 Chevy Impala 4 door hard top and you will understand. "A" pillar, all glass to "C" pillar.
with gas prices being as high as they were, Ford fell flat on their faces by killing off their sedans that get 8-10+ mpg BETTER than any of their crossovers and SUVS in their cheapest forms. So if they bring it back they just need to bring the EU focus over along with the 4 door mustang based car, as well as maybe a midsize like the Fusion, and they have an entire market to have to themselves.
Ford will kill the Focus in the EU nest year and will only selling crossovers, SUVs and the Mustang there.
There’s no point in switching back. The market spoke. Only now that we’ve been in a recession for 2 years have people wanted a cheap sedan that’s good on gas. Once the recession is over(we are on the tail end of it) consumers will go back to the usual buying habits. This is the cycle that’s played out every recession for a century.
I can't speak for the States and loathe the idea of EV's. But Eco-Boost has been the stuff of nightmares for Ford in Britain. Love the Crown Vic.
It's stunning to me that ford can go from absolutely nailing it with the 2v 4.6, and then turn around and make an open-deck turbo engine with a wet timing belt... They've proven that they know better, so it must be intentional. People often accuse me of being a "Ford guy" but honestly, once my vic dies I'll probably never own another ford! I'll be waiting quite a while before that happens though lol
@@KrazeeCain It is a shame that this world has changed so much. The Vic is what we in Britain would think of as a proper American car.
Stretch the Mustang platform, add two doors, call it a Ford Marauder and instantly gain the marketshare left up for grabs after Dodge Charger was discontinued. Rebody the Maverick and call it the Taurus, add a wagon option too. Don't even try to make an economy class car. The Japanese has this beat. I think this is how Ford can return to the sedan market without risking too much.
Holy shit never thought of this 😟 or call it the Falcon 🤔
@@TheAceKannon The Falcon in the US was more of an economy car. The cool one was in Australia. It doesn't feel right. Marauder however was a performance variant of the Panther platform. Also, matches between with the established Mustang and Maverick nameplates currently in use. Plus, being a "4 door Mustang" it makes sense to reuse Marauder.
@@TheZProtocolWhy not call it either the Fairlane or Torino?
@TheZProtocol Also Maurader is Mercury not Ford.
@@CJColvin Fairlane sounds old and non-aggressive. Specially with this push of hi tech, EV all the things now. Wasn't the Torino mainly a coupe?
the wig was crunchy! hahah loved it.
LOL! Thanks
I love your content, i like some sasyness in car media.
Gotta give the people something different lol
Let hope Ford makes a V8 powered Muscle sedan called the Ford Falcon.
I like that idea. They can call it Falcon, Galaxie, Fairmont, etc and aim it squarely at the hybrid and gas charger
RIP to the real ford falcon from Australia 1960-2016😢
the Falcon and Galaxy nameplates are owned by Ford's other markets, they're not coming back.
Ford falcon was a thing, built i. Australia until 2016. One of Australia’s favourite cars
Will probably be a 4 door mustang, but not the Mach E
Let hope Ford makes a V8 powered Muscle sedan called the Ford Falcon.
