Dial Up Internet Using a VoIP Box!

In this episode we explore something I have detested in past videos, going on dial up internet using our broadband internet with VoIP. While I love the fact that I have a true analog home phone, it must be understood that one day I won’t, in fact no one will, as it simply will not be provided any longer. How will I continue my dial up adventure? That’s where VoIP comes in by simulating the dial...

A long long time ago I was toying with the idea of making a 9 V battery cable adapter for the cordless phone base to power it when the power went out. 20 years later somebody gives me these old ancient 900 MHz cordless phones in the base station takes the same battery as the handset so it functions even when the power is off! I don't know why more companies don't do this. I wouldn't mind a modern V-TECH phone with rechargeable AAA compartment on the bottom. Although I just plain wouldn't mind a high-quality cordless phone with decent Audio. I've been using a X-link Bluetooth Gateway and it's amazing the audio quality with a good old fashion western electric!

  • @imark7777777

oh yes the phone doesn't really know where you are because it doesn't invoke GPS at the first instance of needing location services instead it uses Wi-Fi location services which considering I've been dragging my travel router around with me for the past 20 years hesitancy to think I'm still at home or when we first moved into this house at the previous house or for this one Business I ran across the entire Business thought it was still at the old location. Otherwise it Hass to keep the GPS receiver warm and keep a lock on the satellites which drains the battery faster so they cheat and use the Wi-Fi location until more precise locations needed and the GPS chip warms up.

because the company that owns them has found it cheaper to let it exist in runaway train fashion. its cheaper to keep it "plugged in" than paying to remove old heavy and expensive to move equipment at many sites across the country. its also possible they are still required to provide this service as part of a government grant

8:45 But you wont be able to watch UnchartedX, Brien Foerster, Bright Insight, Praven Mohan.. via such old connection you knowlage will be kept in 1999 :> Piramids built at least 12,500 years ago. Technically every phone or wireless modern EDGE,HSPA, LTE modem support AT&T commands do have serial modem interface, you dont even need all that landline stuff nor ethernet. So this trick is possible if you find serial interface converter from phone bluetooth for example to serial cable. There are some DIY made thanks to ESP32. I got internet first time 2006 via GSM phone Siemens C65 acting as modem via real serial cable, then HP iPAQ EDGE exposing serial also via cable - USB serial bridge, then Option GT PCMCIA, 3G Sierra Wireless 875 then Linksys WRT54G3G router with these put inside, and another simmilar device possibly with ViOP option - this is why im here, curious whenever i can turn it to phone line emulator. What i know for certain is that - its not only option interfacing old devices. These days any LTE USB modem NDIS emulating ethernet. So even LTE modems no longer lminited to emulated 115,000kbps serial AT&T commands but all old routers with PCMCIA, USB modems, are capable to to call modem via serial interface as well alongside NDIS. My old Sierra Wireless 865 PCMCIA modems was even capable make call via 2.5mm jack just like regular phone. So technically its possible to dialup internet with your regular mobile phone - if it exposes serial interfaces and that serial interface do have drivers in old operating systems. I know that wont emulate landline this is why im here, Just saying broad options. Cathode Ray Dude CRD also used bridge and there is guy forgot name who made fake phone line, decoding DTMF using Arduino. Trying to make his own ViOP for purpose of internal fake phoneline. Technically simple Android application could emulate old phone audio signal and encode internet connection to QPSK encoded audio and serve web to old devices with ancient audio modems with audio adapter. Our speakers are limited to 20kHz some phone lines were limited to 4kHz it was sufficient. Sorry im thinking out loud.. fascinated in interfacing old devices to modern web. It's not easy task to re-do 20 years of technological progress and work of engineers in CISCO with DIY devices. Any already made bridge is better. There are options. There is project called BlueSCSI he is doing simmilar thing in world of old Apple

It takes many hours for that ad bar to start flush the software when it starts to warn you its about to start, make sure you have a copy of the software because you are going to uninstall and re install the software, make sure you delete the folder/s before you reinstall the software, to bypass the ten hour limit you are going to ex out of the browser window after the tv thing says its connected and the browser window starts to load ex it out before it connects to there website, thats where the timer is, now open the explorer browser or whatever you are using and your good to go !!! Remember you will need to repeat the above steps whenever the ad bar starts warning you with the clicking sounds !
