Every time you are in long traffic at the lights. If your car is a DCT then whenever you stop put the gear on Neutral. This prevents riding the clutch and transmission overheating. I have a Hyundai Veloster N 8 speed automatic DCT Transmission and it already has 87,056 miles on it. Still had 0 problems currently. Since i bought my mk7 gti 7 years ago and yes I like saying that. I can count on one hand how many times iv driven it in auto mode. Coming from 3 back to back to back manuals, it was hard to give it up completely and just sit there doing nothing while the trans does it all for me, especially when it's constantly getting confused lol. Iv spent the last 7 years driving this car in manual mode from the moment I get in and for the entire drive. It's the only way to can find any enjoyment out of an automatic transmission. The dual clutch does make coping without a 3rd pedal a lil more bearable. I highly recommend geting a a simple off the shelf tune for your cars dsg. Does wonders. Makes a world difference in everyday drivability and for those spirited drives.

Fuel pump measuring is the only accurate way to measure fuel consumption IMO. I've encountered cars who where under representing by as much as 7-10%.

why bother having a trans with pre-built breaking points and no service. Just drive manual stickshift at this point.

On the reasons i want buy aDSG they seem to be dog s*** everytime i want to look at one of these on RUclips always a bloody problems so complicated complicated complicated they should never have made the bloody thing stick with a ZF box they are proven better automatic gearboxes

In asian countries we use chinese car equipped with dct. most cars are around (100k km) without any clutch slipped and the transition of the shift is damn good. 1- proper change with synthetic fluid.(40k km) 2- Use Manual mode .......

DCT is the dumbest idea 💡 honestly who came up with this gearbox and why???

I mean clutches are wear items, eventually u have to replace them regardless how u try to maintain them😂. Im about to replace mine not because its broken but due to age and noisy flywheel. Just drive as best as u can to minimize creeping. There are more stressfull things to worry about in life than dsg clutches😂.

you mean while in traffic creeping will cause slipping of clutch which generates heat which eventually kills the mechatronics unit in the tramission right ?

Just got my first DCT car (2024 Kia Forte GT) and learning to drive in heavy traffic is just the same as a normal manual transmission give some distance before you move. I wonder how much better the wet DCT's are in traffic.
