This is the reality of the people that live on Bell Island. This is on a Sunday too. The Ferry in this video was still 45 minutes from docking and the line just grew and grew. Bell Island is an amazing community and are facing massive challenges with the current Ferry situation.

Another great drone video showing exactly what I wanted to see. I believe I spotted a duck or two along with the seagulls. I am told that long before this was West Dam it was called Wild Duck Pond...
it was never called wild duck pond-( the duck pond is by the east track) the west dam was man made as a resevoir for mining operations. the dam is not a pond as its a part of a water system that feeds through from Lance Cove pond all the way to the cliffs down Quigleys line. i live just down from the west dam.. great video here done a few drone vids all around that area
This is a fabulous fly-over of the West Mines area. On the south side of the arena running along its length is where the 5 houses were on Wall Street where I lived in 1955, now long gone. The large empty field now has just a few crumbling concrete remnants of a once vibrant No. 3 mine with its crushers, conveyers, stockpiles and machinery. Thank you for this glimpse of the area from a bird-eye perspective.

Drove through The Cove at approx 4:00 pm as BH was leaving and there were already vehicles up past top ticket booth.
