Building a torsion bar cootie from scratch using scrap metal. step 1 cutting and removing rust with electrolyses
40 watts amp
Просмотров 30221 день назад
0.8 watts in 40 watts out IRF510 CW short wave amplifier using it for qcx qmx.
Well done!
Thanks Tod, will be continued 🙂
Very nice project, Hanz!
Thanks Caryn, we have a great hobby... not only technical but socially too :-)
Wow! What band?
6 meters, very special aurora qso' s. reports are given in 5NA. cq in CQ A. 5 N Aurora and CQ as in cq aurora, That means that the antenna is pointing towards the aurora and the CW is reflected by the aurora in the south direction.
@@ditditdog Thanks!
Very nice! I finally built a key-hub with 18 mA of wetting current (at 9 VDC) after learning about it from you in CW Academy. 361 QSO's on Field Day and didn't have to clean my contacts once!
Greatbgreat Todd, 361 very high score and FieldDay is such a nice event. Congrats. Nice to hear you build the hub!! 73 hanz
Geez Hanz, you are not only transcribing while recording with the other hand, but also sending too! I hope to have that level of proficiency one day :) 73
Thanks Vince, you can do that too no problem.
Nice!
Thanks Tod, it is a fun thing to build. Thinking adding some intelligents like swr, current and poer meter. Using attiny.
Wow!
nice radio it will be :-)
@ditditdog From what I've read it has a excellent keying & break-in. I've used a QMX my brother built and loved it, so this looks great!
@@todd.mitchell yes it is full break in.like the qcx i realy like the full break in, without the relais HI. Yes it is a great radio looking forward to make a qso. After this i will build a 1 watt in and 40 watt out amp to give it some extra coals HI.
Good luck in this project too, dear Hanz!
tnx Manos
Cool you know Morse code
this is morse code, right? also, how are you differentiating between dits and dahs? is it using the timing or by left-and-right?
yes it is morse code. left contact is conneted to right contact so both are equal. timing is done by me. depends were you are in a character the left one can be a dit or dah just as the right one. all i do is going from one side to the other.
@@ditditdog makes sense, thank you
CQ DE YL3JD?
indeed
Nice key! Man, you sure have a good fist on that cootie. 73
the wooden paddles are a very nice touch!
Thanks Vince. The torsion principle works very nice.
"Het begin is er¨, sounds very clear ! .. 73
moeilijkste is klaar. nu mooi maken.
That is a sturdy little horse , nothing to ride yet portable and nice. will last you a good set of years !
yes sturdy and heavy hi
I like it! Perfect time in the sunspot cycle to make one, too. Are those fiberglass poles?
I used just PVC electrical pipes yes ready for nr 25 next year 🙂
Hi, what kind of desingn you've useto to build this tuner?
used a stepper motor( turn the vaccum capacitor 8kV), large rotary encoder and arduino nano thats all still need to make a fast turn now i have to turn a lot but that is just a few lines of code and a switch.
Well done Hanz , good video and good work too, no barberchairs, enjoy the heat !
tnx Edwin is quite warm indeed
Nice! I love how you cut the board to fit around the battery, using it as a structural component. That is elegant design!
Thanks Todd, yes no special stuff needed to nkeep nthe battery in place.
Happy New Year Hanz
Many thanks Vince
da MAN👍
FB Leon tnx HI HI
Does this mean you won all three awards for a GTC contest?
it is a ses and needed to work then on 5 bands. Some times i like tp make a short video HI HI
Congratulations!! Well done .. 73
Nice!
thanks Todd yes great in these outside temperatures
Nice fist on that sideswiper!
Thanks Todd 73 hanz 🙂
Beautiful ... 💯👌🙋♂️
mni tnx 73
Well done, Hanz! I'm enjoying your work. Gotta get myself behind a key soon.
thanks yes time for a qso 🙂
Nice! How do you launch your wire up over the branch?
Hello Todd, i used a small bag used by loggers the get a rope into a tree. I send you the picture by email.
if you look on internet it is a specific way of throwing. ruclips.net/video/3iRM1xODVks/видео.html
Well done , the S match looks great and i hope the vertical(s) will yield enough gain.. looks like you are enjoying yourself and the garden looks stunning too! .. 73 !
first trails, will be a coax system 2 verticals in phase.
I agree with PD0SOT! This is something I've always wanted to do. Maybe I'll work you when you beam those my way someday. 73 DE NØIP
@@todd.mitchell yes would be great a qso Todd, will let you know.
Looking good!
Thanks, half way now hi. 73
Looks really cool and works as it should for sure. Good Job...💯👌🙋♂
many thanks, now building it in to a housing.
nice build Hanz, congrats
Many thanks Leon
That's cool! I've never seen an adjustable inductor like that.
it is a very nice compact inductor, very happy with it will use it for mt ant tuner instead of the tapped coil. 73
I love these videos. Great work!
Many thanks Todd
I think I heard you say Arduino Nano. Is that to control the motor?
Elegant design, my friend! Are you using a Teensy to control that (stepper?) motor on the capacitor? 73 DE NØIP
Hello Todd thanks, i used a Arduino Nano and a A4988 stepper motor driver. I use a function generator as qrp tx to tune in with the capacitor.
here my way of tuning ruclips.net/video/CT2HP-76crk/видео.html
@@ditditdog Well done! That's a sweet HF CW station. I would love to build one of those. Very nice construction, Hanz. Congratulations!
@@todd.mitchell Many thanks Todd hope to meet you some day on the air. 73 hanz
Nicely done Hanz, good homemade tuner. hope the results are excellent! 73 ..
I'm still learning, so my question is, it's possible to reduce WPM less then 20 ?
It is set so that you can start on 15 wpm now this is for the QTC trainer and the contest trainer
it is changed but my advise would be to work at a speed of at least 20 wpm so it is difficult to count the dits or dahs and you willlearn to recognise the sound. Also have a look at CWOPS academy.
@@ditditdog I was not expecting that from your side, so first of all many thanks, in fact I learning, I'm using LCWO and CW Player and I'm pretty close from 20, but didn't reach that level yet, what we do have on those applications is that we can work in 20WPM but we can increase the interval between letters, so that helps. Once again many thanks.
@@FilipeJorgeSilva Great to hear you are on 20 wpm. The Fanrnsworth speed( delay betwen characters) is on my list it will come in the trainers. I will let you know nwhen it is in there. Keep practising and hope to meet you for a qso on the air. 73 hanz YL3JD
@@FilipeJorgeSilva Please have alook at the CONTEST TRAINER now you can select Effective speed. The QTC trainer not yet but that will follow. 73
nice
tnx Dusan happy cw'ing
Lovely to chat with you a few minutes ago on 20m my friend, my wife and I absolutely adore your beautiful grey Cat, we have three! Take care 73s. Ian - 2E0IGB

Well done Hanz! Nice setup and good build ! 73 . .
Yes…! sounds good Go ahead Hanz
Nice clip, good props !
legs 20 meter coil on 10 meter.
A real 59 Signal :) very nice and clean CW ! Enjoyed this one
Very nice Hanz and quite narrow as well! 73
ja viel niet tegen, 1 keer afregelen en werkt en redelijk stabiel.
Good clip "Groeten uit letland" ;)
That sir is a considerable and substantial amount of dry and especially warm nights in the house. You can be proud of this work. Enjoy Winter! :)
thanks Edwin, quite a job from cutting the tree in the forest up to stacking, burning is the cherry on the cake.
