He was in a hurry because his parking ticket expired soon.
This is so inspiring--thank you
❤
Haydn looks grumpy but great song!
magical
Exquisite ensemble playing! Wish I could see a live performance.
Fantastically elegant. Love it.
Oh ja sehr hübsch, M. und auch J.Haydn machen jeden Tag so hell und freundlich:-)
Such an amazing treat to hear your music. Thank you.
wonderful to hear him again, brings back memories of when he played here often in Miami years ago --- he was and still is a brilliant musician..
What a sound Peter..! Mesmerizing. A throwback to the Golden Age of Violinists
oh wow!
Beautiful, Peter!
The complete artist in every way. Gorgeous sound, phrasing, pacing, color, glissandi; a throwback to what violin playing should be. Kreisler himself would've loved this.
memories of Peter playing here in Miami many years ago, how wonderful to hear it again...
How sublime!
What a fine quartet. Artaria was there at the Snowbird UT performance (we helped turn pages). Congrats to the Muir String Quartet for this great recording.
I guess it is hard to forget Bartok's 5th Quartet after one hears it....
Amazing, love Kreisler and this recording.
I will never forget Rigaudon, it crushed every ounce of will out of me.
Why?
Really nice performance!
Bravi!
Bravo!!!! Beautiful playing!!!!!
I miss your sound! Loving this recording, and this piece!
Amazing performance. Hard to beat. I've heard them all. This is tops in my book.
I heard him in Prussia Cove at a Sandor Veghmaster class in 1978 and admired his outstanding playing then. This is just as wonderfully polished and sophisticated as I recall Mr. Zazofsky.
The Muir String Quartet is one of many quartets that make a "mistake" in the playing of the fourth movement. It is not their fault, but instead, it must be the fault of the transcriber who altered the viola part slightly. There are many other quartets that you can listen to on RUclips who play the section correctly, so there must be a set of published parts that transcribed the music properly. If you have a score, look at the four measures prior to rehearsal number "8" in movement four. (If you listen to the Emerson Quartet on RUclips, you will have the score). Now, focus on the first two of those measures. The rhythm in all four instruments is "8th note, 8th rest, 8th rest, 8th note". In this rendition by the Muir Sring Quartet, the two violins and cello play that rhythm. But the viola plays "8th note, 8th rest, 8th note, 8th rest" which is not what is written in the full score. (you can hear it between 23:46 and 23:48) I have found that about 25 percent of the renditions of this quartet on RUclips make this same "mistake" whereas about 75 percent play it "correctly." I can only assume that there is a set of parts that was not transcribed correctly at that one spot. Both renditions sound fine. Listen to the Novus String Quartet. They play the music according to the score. I am doing a little bit of music detective work here. I wonder who published the tainted parts... and I wonder... am I the only one who has noticed this? I have noticed that on RUclips, there is a rendition of this quartet by the Budapest String Quartet from 1940 and the mistake is played there.... almost 80 years ago. Am I the only person in the past 80 years who has noticed this transcription error?
What a wonderful rendition of this piece!!!!!! Absolutely wonderful, outstanding
FABULEUSE
Rare LP! Heard about it on a Dutch discussion group on Facebook. Wonderful performance, yes!
