Last year the phenomenally skilled Clara O’Brien mezzo-soprano and wife to my composition teacher, Lance Hulme, passed away tragically. Upon hearing the news, I was stricken with grief for my teacher Lance who always approached working with me as a student with humility and genuine excitement about my ideas. I treasure my memories of working with him in college, and have kept in touch since graduation to this date, as his critical advice I have always found helpful and humble (despite his many accomplishments).

Adam Vincent Clay performs Chopin's F minor etude from Op. 25 in a solo concert beginning the Houston New Arts Movements 2015 season "World Journeys." In the opening concert, Slavic Migrations, Polish and Russian composers Chopin and Rachmaninoff were honored, and guests were treated to an artist reception with Syd Moen, along with a taste of the food from countries represented in the event.

    Many thanks for sharing this ! I am accustomed Lynn Harrell's and to Maria Kliegel's interpretations (I do not like much Natalia Gutman's) and I find it very refreshing to hear this wonderful sonata from you ! In spite of the global stature and fame of the artists that I am mentioning here, you are truly holding your ground and should be proud of yourselves.... Thanks again for posting !     This was a most powerful and moving evening. This cello sonata is incredible! Schnittke in a beautiful sanctuary sparked by talented and passionate musicians moved and moves my soul to prayer. Amazing Adam and Melisa.please keep sharing your gifts with us.
