First of all, I'd want to point out that THIS IS A CARTOON Second of all, it was a cartoon involving magic and comedy and goofiness. This was all before this woke nonsense going on. i mean, sebastian discusses this openly. that he's 'grooming' ciel and cultivating his soul into the perfect meal. he talks about it briefly with william in the circus arc of the anime and goes into more detail in the manga. sebastian and ciel have a "complicated" relationship, but at the end of the day, sebastian is going to kill and eat him one day. they both know that. ciel knows that he is being manipulated by sebastian and that the path of revenge is not going to end happily for him - he's just broken enough by his past to not care.
