HMS Victory model from Heller 1/100 (Part1)
Here is the Heller 1/100 HMS Victory model. This is the first part showing all the assembly of the body as per the instructions. Part 2, to follow, will show all the rigging.

Martial arts over 50. Swiss ball exercises that anyone can do

Here are some examples of Swiss ball exercises that can be done at any age. I am in my mid sixties so anyone younger than me can do these easily. I'm sure I can do these into my 80s and beyond so nothing too difficult here. Disclaimer Its just a soft ball but the exercises can be dangerous. This is not a training video and these exercises are just examples of what can easily be done with a bit ...
Revell 1:72 pirate ship display case - cheap and easy to make
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.Год назад
Here is a model sailing ship display case that is easy to make without special tools and is cheap to buy but looks good. Complete with LED lighting. My carpentry skills are not good enough to make a nice top and base so I used picture frames. Thick perspex is expensive and difficult to cut exactly for smooth edges (my skill level) so I used cheap thin 2 mm perspex and joined with wooden angles....

Good work buddy! Can't wait to see the work continues! Subscribe is here! Wish the best
Many thanks. The rigging is slow work so good be a while before the next video
@@TheMegazaya No problem, I will be stand by :) I also build model ships, but I'm not sure what the next one will be. Either the Le Glorieux or the Royal Louis by Heller. Have you already had experience with these and could you give me your expertise?
@@Floria629 Hi, it would be good to see pictures of what you have built. I haven't had any previous experience model building. i only built an easier pirate ship before this one. I therefore haven't much expertise to offer but here are some tips. The rigging is the hardest so you need a lot of patience and time. For a big model you need space and the ability of having everything lying around without someone coming in and cleaning everything up. Watch a lot of others on RUclips building models as there is lots of talent there. Oh and watch out for cats climbing up onto your model work area if you have any!
@@TheMegazaya I have a dog, so at least I have one less thing to worry about haha. No previous experience? I wouldn't have thought that, considering how good the model has become so far. Thank you very much for your tips, I would be happy to send you a few photos of the process once I have started building Le Glorieux or Royal Louis. Wish you all the best !
Beautiful work!!
Thanks
Admirable achievement! Have had this kit for decades and been too intimidated to make much progress beyond the boats and guns.
Being retired now I had time on my hands to work on it, couldn't have done it while working. Must admit am feeling intimidated progressing onto the rigging now
Well done, looks great so far. :)
Thank you! 😊
For a newcomer that's a very impressive build...look forward to seeing more
Thanks, I'm quite good at building stuff so it's just a case of transferring skills to modelling. However I must thank the skilled modellers posting their work on RUclips, as without them my build wouldn't perhaps be at the standard to post.
Id love to put my build up on youtube can you let me know how you did that ?
No problem, it's easy. When you sign in to RUclips you will see a box near the top right of the screen called "Create" you click into which will allow you to upload your video in MP4 format. First though you need some editing software to make your video look good. I use VSDC editing software that is not expensive and you can download here Videosoftdev.com but there are many more It would be good to see your work so let me know when you've done that and I can have a look, Thanks
Watch out for the masts not quite fitting vertically
Funny you mention that. I have discovered that my Foremast is vertical but the Main mast is inclined towards the stern a few degrees and the Mizzen mast doesn't fit. To get the Mizzen in I will need to file the hole bigger on the poop deck and then fill any gaps. I wondered if the masts on the real Victory are slightly inclined towards the stern?
Lovely...am building this also..fou d the stern tough going my eyes are not what they used to be...keep going g though
I found the stern tough going too. Painting took ages and awkward to glue on. We just need to persevere to make it look good.
Congratulations on your progress on a very difficult build. As always, in ship modeling, perseverance is the key. Love your LED work; very nice effect! Looking forward to seeing your work on rigging.
Many thanks. The LEDs took a bit of planning to get the best effect, still some to put on the masts.
Do you need sand
Hi. You don't need sand you can use water instead. If you are sitting the bag on a smooth surface the suckers might grip so you wont need anything.
Very nice. LED’s are an interesting touch. Don’t see that very often on ship models. At least I don’t!
Thanks for the comment. I love LEDs and have them everywhere but I don't see many on ship models much either.
That kit is a real challenge even for experienced model builders. My respects to your skill and dedication. The led lights give an extra edge to your built. As with many led´s in small scale they tend to look very bright, especially in the lanterns. Looking forward to part II.
Many thanks. It took me a long time, likely longer than experienced modellers. I have to thank the experienced modellers posting on RUclips and too many to credit here. They made it easier to build my model. The LEDs do look good, and not finished yet as there are lanterns to go on the mast. I used higher value resistors in line with the LEDs to reduce the brightness but the camera exposure time makes them look brighter than they really are. Part II could be a while yet as I am starting the rigging now
Stunning, a thing of great beauty!!
Many thanks!
Excellent work. Looking forward to Part 2.
Thanks. I am starting the rigging now so part 2 will be a few months away
I think it's blooming excellent the leds are great and a good overall finish 👍
Thanks. I have a thing for LED lights and have them everywhere 🤣
thanks for idea!
I got the idea from someone else, it saved a lot of time and effort also hides my lack of joinery skills
wonderful work!
Thanks it was my first time and I stared with a complicated model. The next attempt should be better
very smart!
Thanks
amazing!
Thanks, it shows that people in there 60s can still perform good in fitness. I see you have like a kung fu logo. Do you do martial arts?
Not "just" great, which it is, but magical too!
Thanks
5:52 The paddle, the weapons, and the clothes on those figurines look real. I salute you, Captain.
Thanks, sometimes I look they are seem so real almost scary. LOL. it took a while to paint them.
That was a clever way to build that display case! Good job! 👍👍
Thanks, the frames make it look much better than I could have achieved without special cutting equipment. Only cost me about £40
Sharp build
Thanks
You know, that kit is really the 'Back Pearl' from Pirates of the Carribean right?
Looks great! As you painted all the parts before assembly does it mean you have to scrape a bit of paint of when you glue them together?
Good question. I tried to avoid painting where any glue is required. If I did, the glue appears to aghere without removing paint. However One lesson I learned is to avoid painting any assembly holes and pins. The paint is thick enough to prevent assembly and needs removed.
@@TheMegazaya thank you this is very helpful. I plan on getting this kit it looks like a good build
Yes, you should always remove paint on the mating surfaces. Glue does not stick very well to paint. Plastic model glue is chemically designed to melt the plastic.... essentially.....'welding' the parts together.
@@clubtepes2046 Thanks for the reply. I didn't know that about the design of the glue
@@TheMegazaya Sure. In modeling, it's good to know what glues do what. Plastic glue, does what I said, it melts the plastic. But lets say you want to glue brass photo-etch to plastic........ plastic glue isn''t going to melt brass. A lot of glues do what they do based on 'surface tension'. Meaning, they 'grip' each surface and hold them together. Elmer's glue, super glue, even epoxy glue all work on surface tension. Heck, Latex paint works on surface tension and you can peel it off. The chemical glue are designed for specific products. And glue meant for styrene plastic, won't work on ABS plastic (Another type of plastic used on different models).
Great job where did you buy it from?
Thanks. I got this from Amazon UK and cost about 80 GBP. Should be easy to find as there were many for sale
Do you get the paint aswell or do you need to buy it ? Bc i really wanna buy the black pearl one!
You need to buy the paint separately. The instructions recommend the paint to buy but you can have any colour. I think the black pearl is the same model but just a different colour.
@@TheMegazaya Hi, there, do you put a u in color because you're Brittish?
Yes but in some countries like the US they don't use it
@@TheMegazaya Hi, and thank you for telling the public.

Excellent job! How big is it?
Thanks, it was my first time doing this and took a while to build. It is 56cm L x 51cm H x 22cm W

Thanks
They must be running on their lowest capacity because thos can go 1000 microteslas
That's true and could depend on the time of day. If there is a big demand for electricity, perhaps at dinner time, then the current would increase and hence the EMFs. Also if I could stand closer to the cables I would have had a higher reading.
That's my Xmas present sorted now 👍🤣
Well, I hope that you never ever use a hairdryer - you could be exposed to up to 2000 uT, which surely would be lethal instantaneously! :D
I get a reading of 1700 from a lightbulb so I'm not sure 29 is that bad for EMF (assuming it's the same measurement). I wonder what the effects of the actual electricity in your body is though. People have proven that they can light up bulbs and cause sparks or fires.
I wouldn't worry about EMF from a bulb as motorised equipment like fridges are much worse. Also anything SMART. Nobody knows how low power EMF affects the body long term. Some people say it affects them and there is a lot of youtube negative information on health but no proof. I think the body lighting up bulbs is a magic trick. It is possible to build up static electricity depending on what you wear that would cause a spark and start a fire.
@@TheMegazayaI totally agree about low power EMF, I wish they would do more research into these things. I don't think it was the body lighting up the bulb it was the pylon lighting up the bulb such as in "Abnormal phenomenon under a high voltage PTL - LIGHTING BULBS RIGHT IN MY HANDS without any wires!!!". I haven't tried to take a light bulb down to my local pylons to try yet though.
@@f-22r Hi, I have seen youtube videos of guys with a coil/antenna arrangement generating power from the powerlines magnetic field and charging phone and lighting LEDs. I don't think I will try it though
Hello. I want to gain flexibility for high kicks, do you have some advice for beginners?
Hi - here is some advice I would highly recommend a warm up first before any training and stretching. I have a video on my channel for ideas but there are many on RUclips. Next perform dynamic stretching in a controlled manner - not Ballistic! Then do you martial arts workout After your training workout do static stretching exercises. Many clubs miss this due to time constraints. Don’t miss this if possible. Also be consistent with stretching. You may also need to strengthen your leg muscles with weights. Squats and deadlifts are best. Others may have a different opinion but what I recommended works. I am quite supple for a pensioner as proof Enjoy the beginning of your training
@@TheMegazaya Thanks for your response. You have a new subscriber. I am a video editor if you need advices for your videos I could help you. Regards
@@miguelangelmora8664 A video editor! That might be quite useful to know because as you can see my video editing is very amateur.

There is a powerline near my friends house its too close and its around 20- 25 meters high I think. Its 380 kv I believe. What is the the limit for emf ? And It's buzzing due to corona discharge.
Its hard to determine the limit for emf. Who is making the limits, geographically where the limits are and the doctors understanding of the effects, if any on the mind and body. In the UK we have CEMFAW regulations that set exposure times and limits at work. This link may offer some guidelines. www.hse.gov.uk/radiation/nonionising/emf-regulations.htm
Law on real contries the bio limit for sleeping areas is 0.02 micro teslas
People think it's the infrasound; maybe it's the high power emf from these high-voltage power lines that connect these windmills...
Some people are affected by the infrasound from windmills and yet you can't hear it below 20Hz. The Infrasound comes from anything that vibrates/moves. The windmillls are electronically connected for control
What do you do in Japan?
Left now but worked as a consultant for carbon capture and storage on Iwaki Oki project.
lmao the earth's magnetic field is 10 times stronger than the highest value recorded here, 50 uT a fridge magnet is 1,000 times stronger, 5mT an MRI is 400,000 times stronger, 3T if you think this is going to harm you, you better throw out all the fridge magnets and never, ever get an MRI
Thanks for the comment. I personally don't think the power line emf 5Hz/60Hz will harm anyone. However we are all different and some claim to feel the long term effect. Yes the earth magnetic field is stronger but natural. Fridge magnets are a fixed magnetic field. MRI... now that's something else. Your right I would never ever want an MRI.
Fill it with sand, THEN poor water in there for maximum weight.
Hi, you are absolutely right. Filling with water would probably add another 20kg. I found that I didn't need to do that as the base is stable without the water. However I'm not a young pro martial artist so possibly cant kick it hard enough to knock it over. One problem with putting water in is if you ever have to move, or carry it somewhere you would need a fork lift truck as you will never get the wet sand out of the hole.😉
I have a 100 light string with a on/off one step timer on for 6hrs off for 18 but this year the lights will go on but turn off in minutes and will not come back on. Any ideas how I can fix this? Mine are the tiny wire fairy lights. Thanks so much.
Hello and thanks for the question. There is no way of adjusting the timer. I am assuming you are using batteries and not doing the as me in this video? Only things you can do is make absolutely sure the batteries are new and 1.5v each. Also check that the battery terminals are not corroded and have a shiny appearance. Don't use rechargeable batteries as their voltage is too low. Merry Christmas
Taser time please try not to enjoy high voltage power lines as much as possible for dumb safety reasons well they are best to be insulated with rubber covering.
Quote from World Health Organization (WHO) "The International EMF Project In response to growing public health concerns over possible health effects from exposure to an ever increasing number and diversity of electromagnetic field sources, in 1996 the World Health Organization (WHO) launched a large, multidisciplinary research effort. The International EMF Project brings together current knowledge and available resources of key international and national agencies and scientific institutions. Conclusions from scientific research In the area of biological effects and medical applications of non-ionizing radiation approximately 25,000 articles have been published over the past 30 years. Despite the feeling of some people that more research needs to be done, scientific knowledge in this area is now more extensive than for most chemicals. Based on a recent in-depth review of the scientific literature, the WHO concluded that current evidence does not confirm the existence of any health consequences from exposure to low level electromagnetic fields. However, some gaps in knowledge about biological effects exist and need further research." Source: www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/radiation-electromagnetic-fields Maybe there are minor consequences from long term exposure but if it would be life threatening or causing serious long term effects, we would know by now. I'm not a professional, nether are you. Lets keep the alarm bells to the professionals to ring.
Many thanks for the information and the source.
Why is it danger can they arch on u
They can arch on you if you fly a kite below and it gets too close to the line or if you climb up the pylon.
Nice gym
i sometimes go past power lines and i can sometimes feel the hairs on my arms raise but only for a few seconds as i pass it on my bike ? is that caused by emf i might have to get an emf meter some day and test
Thanks for the comment. Thats an interesting effect. I don't think thats EMF but I'm thinking perhaps more electrostatic, like dry atmospheric conditions and extremely high voltage. Who knows mf effects everyone differently and some with no effect
is it me or can anyone with headphones hear a hum whenever he looks up or looks forward away from lines lol it could be that strong its messing with the mic
Lol, don't think so but you might have a bad connection on your headphone connector.
@@TheMegazaya he is correct. When you get close to those lines a background humm can be heard through headphones - and the hum is not there when you first start walking.
@@lecsu131 Thanks for the interesting reply. I will actually try it with a couple of different pairs and see what happens. It could be that the energy from the power lines is induced into the headphone cable
