We are the administrators, and neither of us plays goalie. We have a large group of regular players, two regular goalies, and several backups.

Yes. Almost everyone runs. A few people skate. The rink is only about 15 feet shorter than regulation so it is quite the workout.

Also, this removes the pre-requisite skill of skating so it is easier to convince people to give it a try :)

Most weeks there are a few skaters out on the rink also. Only one of our regular goalies skate, the others are on foot. It is jus to open to however people want to play. There are advantages and disadvantages to both ways.

As per the other comment, it is a mix of skaters and runners. It just depends on the person and the week. Either way, it is always a lot of fun.

Yeah the unofficial rule is that you can only shove your friends and you have to both have smiles on when doing it. :)

@@YeahRightMCD I (goalie in this video) have to drive about an hour each week to get out here, but it's definitely worth it. Lots of fun, even if it makes me feel like a 70 year old when all is said and done.

@justiceclayton5284 Nice! I'm not against driving, but 45 mins each way just isn't in my schedule right now. Used to do about 30 mins each way, back in NY.

I think we are at 16 years now

A few people skate, but one has to be really good at skating for it to be an advantage. The runners and can stop and change directions much more easily, and, the concrete is here is rather bad and mitigates the normal advantages of skates.
