Nova Drift - Salvo around the world!
Technically, I beat Star Eater twice on this run...
I had a Nova Drift video by GOdisPink in my recommended feed and took a look. He said it was his first time playing and I thoroughly enjoyed the video as he discovered what things did and how the enemies act. It reminded me of my first time playing and discovering what all the things do. He also started with Salvo, a weapon I usually shun, but it got me thinking about possible combinations now that I have a better grasp of what is available and how they interact.

Continuing to play with railgun builds, Warp Strike eluded me until the very end, and my own computer was against me this time with the lag! I won't say "I woulda set a new PB!", but the lag cut my run short, and I'm sad about that. New computer needed, but not happening any time soon. Oh well. I did unexpectedly defeat Star Eater! Just posted a run, but got another good one, so two-fer today! Decided to go with the Railgun this time... Ataraxia and the luck of multiple Twin Strikes made this build feel like I was throwing freight trains at everything. Add a dash of Warp Strike, and those freight trains just don't stop! Two Star Eaters got to feel the pain, with the second getting beat down in record time (for me). Oh how...
Nova Drift - Slow Darts nearly makes personal top 10

Made short work of the boop noodle with this build! Managed to survive an awful wave 200 (barely) and came close to my person top 10. Not sure if I like the slow darts. Maybe with some tweaks or something, maybe a few more double taps in the mix (or twin strikes, if they ever show up when I'm running darts... they always show up when I'm running swords!)

A full session - the first couple runs were not satisfying at all, so I kept going and recording. I have taken a liking to the Flak as a primary weapon, so the first games here started with that. You can see how terrible my mouse control is (not that you can't see that in my other videos...), and my decision making leaves something to be desired. Been trying some combinations with the Flak and found Barrage works well with it once you've powered it up a bit. Paired with an interceptor, the screen is full of death! Took down some of the nastier enemies quite quickly, but in the end, hubris got the better of me. Next time!

I have seen Star Eater on RUclips and Twitch, other people facing him and his patterns and such, but I've been on a build that did not include the boss. That changed yesterday with the 1.0 release! I admit, I saw UltraC do a Flak build and I wanted to try something similar. Pretty powerful! I tried several times and experimented with things, and loved the way Death Blossom looks with the Flak. I know I am not on the latest build - I don't have Star Eater - but it's still fun!

Another attempt to deputize my constructs to deliver the fire. Was going well until it wasn't! Learning to use Strafe (which I almost never use) and it was helping a lot given the reduced mobility of Overseer. I would say I broke a million, and technically that's true, but the final Seraph pulled me up short and really only my big toe crossed the million mark.

Inspired by both UltraC and LethalFrag, I decided to deputize my constructs to do the burn damage for me. I wanted to remain in the fray, so I took engineer instead of carrier... probably would have gone better if I'd let the little guys handle things and minded my own business as an Overseer.

Didn't get into my personal top 10, but enjoyed some of my narrow escapes in this run! Ataraxia probably killed me in my quest to get hyperboost... I'm sure I could have used more defensive mods.

My laptop gets very hot and throttles during this run... couple times I tried to pause and let it cool down, including the breather near the end when everything was just coming non-stop! Good one, you actually inspired me with that one and got my own 2+ million flak gameplay on annihilation. I went engineer and triple interceptor though
Awesome! I usually do Engineer when I go mostly construct builds, otherwise I'm kind of a broken record with amp shield and assault body. Thank you for watching!

I feel like you’re sleeping on a couple good defensive mods, especially for amp shield. Tempest break and emergency systems would definitely help you be both more aggressive and survivable. And calibrate is always amazing for rail-guns as well.
It's true, I do tend to favor red builds over purple. I should try to incorporate more defense, especially with how offensive some of the defense can be! Those are good suggestions, thank you. Will have to see how successful I am at following suggestions... 😁 Thank you for watching!
