@@RJ_Fishing12 first time I had fished there in a bit. The spot usually doesn’t disappoint though.
I had some of the most violent blowups on a Buzz bait last Friday. The pike were coming in hot for it. I normally don't want to catch pike, but I'll make an exception when they're hitting topwater.

@@alfredpayne1762 nice, smallmouth are always a good time. I don’t use a wire leader, I usually don’t have issues as long as it’s a moving bait.
I'm fishing at Glen lake right now. Zillions of 10 inch bass and loads of bluegills on the flyrod. It's weird watching a video of the same spot

I think the fish get hammered so muxh they aee now used to the shrimp. Liver is a great alternative. Is the bay deep where you fish?
This area sees a lot of pressure unfortunately. It does get pretty deep the cast were probably reaching 15-18ft of water.

That’s the Shimano Curado Dc 200. My new favorite reel, so smooth and can out cast my other reels.

Any advice for fishing at south bay? I fish right off the pier and the rock road across from the pier. I use a little bit of everything and never get any bites. It’s one of the few decent spots I know of that I can get to and I really would like to catch something. I almost had something on topwater frogs, but I missed the strike. Other than that, I can cast for hours on end without a single bite.
We don’t have the best of luck there this time of year. The best fishing there is May and june when the drum are hanging around. I always feel like the spot looks better than it actually is. But when we do catch fish this time of year it’s usually on smaller soft plastics. In the spring, the go to to lure is easily bladebaits since the drum love them.
@@PrimordialFishing thanks so much! I gotta find some more places where I can fish from the shore nearby. I live near Granville, and I don’t have much luck at the places near me lol.
@@ThomasAllen-in8bx unfortunately I don’t know that area to well. I’ve tried the Champlain locks a few times but never had any luck.
why do you not let them hold the fish they catch? 😭
Please handle musky with care esp. being a rarity in Vermont. Do not beach them do not pull them out of the water do not hold them vertically. Sadly this musky more than likely did not survive.

How do you target a fresh water drum?
@@scottdurkee3833 my main lure is the mean eye Bladebait from bass pro. I have a ton of luck on them. I’ve caught them on crankbaits though and live craws seem to be the most recommended bait.
You seem to be on the western side of Lake Champlain. How do you find your spots? Driving around looking?
@@LacyChuck most of the time I hear about spots from other people but I also fun spots using google earth and than I use an app called Fishbrain to see what others may have caught there.

I like watching local guys catching fish. We live in Panton right on Dead Creek. The only suggestion I have is to give a little more description of what lures you are using and what techniques you are using. Keep up the good work !!

@@gunadoo we’ve very rarely fished dead creek, we normally fish otter where the two meet.

@@alfredpayne1762 from what I understand northern Champlain has some major issues with cities dumping sewage runoff into the lake. I’ve never heard of the southern part of the lake having that issue. Thanks for watching.
