I get really bad panic attacks, hyperventilation and all, and what really helps me is putting something very cold (ice, a cold damp towel) at the top of the back of my neck. It shocks your parasympathetic nervous system and immediately stills you. 10/10 recommended.

Hi Lucy, I feel for you. I have suffered with Bipolar and ADHD my entire life and in 2015, I developed severe anxiety and full blown panic attacks. They got so bad that in 2017, I had to take a year long leave of absence from my job and retreated from the outside world. In 2018, I went out on disability and have since fully retired. What has made my life bearable has been my newly discovered love of music which started in 2023 with the Baritone Ukulele which is my favorite instrument, and now I am incorporating acoustic guitar and singing. Music has brought joy to my life and given me purpose which I find to be very therapeutic. I would recommend to you something that has helped me and that is coloring books. I use coloring book apps on my iPad and Apple Pencil, everyday and it helps to alleviate stress while I listen to soft relaxing music like Enya. I wish you all the happiness in the world and I look forward to all your uplifting music and videos.
