That's not always the case though. I play arknights because the story is pure gold(just watch lone trail story) and you actually need a brain to play arknights without guides. I would argue that arknights is one of the best tower defense game out there! The sheer amount of content and gameplay variety is absolutely insane. On top of that, you can be completely free to play and still be able to buy any skin or pull any operator you want.

When I started Elden Ring because I recently met the PC requirements, it's an eye opening, my life's changed, my mind ascended, my heart healed... Honestly it was a waste of my 4 years playing Genshin Impact just to absolutely get absorbed in it's sick monetization model I could've stopped the artifact farming, the dailies, weeklies, monthlies... allat was dogshit game design. I even started WuWa and ZZZ for the same stupid dailies weeklies monthlies and farming... But Elden Ring... There was none of that it's just peak in every step, every button u press, every turn, every fight, every discovery, it's like I experienced a masterpiece for the first time after playing slops, it's like I tasted a dish from a michelin star restaurant after eating a decomposed McDonalds from a nearby trash bin. It's honestly on a whole other level, it's my time now to stop getting so hanged on about the new banners, the new characters, the new meta, they're just selling slops. Just read the lore and worldbuilding because that's just what gacha games only good at.

Azur Lane makes most their money from their skins, they gacha is 100% f2p you can farm cubes doing commissions, sometimes show up in stores buy with the currency. Funny now Google is deciding to remove 5 skins, someone got big mad and told Google to make a mess with Azur Lane developers, its stupid.

I also play Genshin for the story, and it is only bad if you are a "Wheres the skip button" type. I have read over 2000 Novels (I'm 42 and retired and relatively well off) and Genshins story is fine, engaging even when you start actually reading the books and item descriptions. Also who goons to genshin, like seriously, what are you? a puritan? mormon maybe? go play echocalypse or something if thats the goal.
