My favorite film of all time and for the money, one of the greatest American films ever made. God bless everyone for their love, care and dedication in making this film what it was. It truly does stand the test of time.
great smile
Thanks.
Another mistake they made with this movie is the name. It is weird to say, and it's hard on the eyes for some reason.
We went to New Mexico just to find the Filming location where Lois Died.
I am confused and question. But hasn't the Special Edition / DIrectors Cut and The Extended Edition that aired on TV already been released on Bluray. I have all three. Unless this was posted before its release. Let me check.....Yes it happened in 2016 and 2017 roughly. - Toronto, Canada.
Funny how this movie was a documentary.
Strauss and Legiti worked brilliantly..Norths score an interesting work but too cacophonic and Kubrick wanted a 'waltz in space'
I wonder how many collaborations (if not friendships) have been ended over a movie's score. 2001 is explained in this video. Bernstein and Reitman's partnership ended when swaths of the former's score was excised from Ghostbusters in favor of songs, despite him being told it wouldn't happen. Herrmann and Hitchcock's work together ended when the producers wanted to go in a different direction with Torn Curtain and Hitchcock didn't even try to fight it. What a bizarre thing it is to make art at this level.
❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So basically one person bought a ticket popcorn and pop and that was the b.o gross
No other superhero movie comes close to this. Its just epic in every way.
I'm not paying no money for the movies that is too dark. You can't even see the actors in it it's too damn dark
I think the actors were let down by the total change of the book's story and wish the original storyline could have been used, plus whilst I agree that Frank Langella is sensationally sexy, his appearance is 20th century which puts him out of sync with everyone else. Such a pity because it could have so easily have been the very best version of the original book.
Superman is easily the best movie i ever watch. It's a prove that CG does not not make a movie better. Its sad that no hollywood does not make this kind of good quality movie anymore.
I would love a box set of SUPERMAN 1,2,3,4, BATMAN, BATMAN RETURNS, THE FLASH COMPLETE SERIES.
“And over the last few years we have heard a lot about something called ‘family values’. And like many of you, I have struggled to figure out what that means. And since my accident, I've found a definition that seems to make sense. I think it means that we're all family. And that we all have value.” Christopher Reeve, speaking at the Democratic National Convention in 1996. What a Super Man.
45 year aniversary in december
fukin A
and 45 years later no other Superman movie comes close
Back in the 70’s my very first film I seen on the big screen was Battle for the Planet of the Apes from there on I became a fan seeing films at the theater every chance I got. Each new film I saw truly was an amazing experience ,u just had to live in that time line and each new film brought an exciting feeling that couldn’t be explained King Kong ,Star Wars ,Superman ,truly a new coming of age of cinematic history has begun.
Sir Laurence Olivier!❤
Frank Langella was clearly a romanticised version of Dracula, but his looks and softly spoken tone fitted the loosely based play of Dracula. I find Langella immensely compelling in the role. Far more so than Christopher Lee. Lee was harsh more moleviant in his approach, whilst Langella produces some interesting touches and subtle nuances that come to the fore in the film. Whilst the film does have some weak scripting, Dracula 79 makes up for some remarkable lighting by Gil Taylor and wonderful location work in Cornwall. Badham does try hard to produce a heady mix of different approaches with camera shots and some nice interplay between actors, but Badham at times does feel like he's slightly out of depth with certain aspects of the films wide Gothic canvas. Stoker I'm certain would've been impressed by Frank Langella. He's the near perfect alternative Dracula to the original novel. Not perfect as a film, but enjoyable.
I bet this movie became a major blockbuster!
My all time favorite movie
No one but no one will ever be a better Superman then Christopher reeve
I may just be opinionated on this, But I personally believe that the Fleischer Bros. Superman is the best. Then again, I'm woefully uninformed on the topic. Why do you think Christopher Reeve is the best?
Just a pure classic
The finale version of the theme was used, and the same pitch change happens to the audio.
I thought I'm the only one who noticed it...they should've just used the same theme as before...why mix the finale version to the opening? It sounds odd, especially to us who've seen this countless times.
This trailer has 3000 times more views than the actual movie.
your full of it you dont have a clue
Mia's tomb scene in this movie was one of the most disturbing scenes I ever seen in horror movie.
I don't understand what this is?...
They're attempting to re-create the look and sound of the movie in its original theatrical form, but better. I think.
A Luchar por la justicia y por el Amor de la mujer maravilla 🤣
👍🦸♂️
📼 1983-1990
Yo soy de 1983-1990 ok
they don't make movies like that anymore, that's for sure.
Every time superman appears on the screen I can't stop watching it.
the 1982 v cut has been put on blueray and im happy with that buti think tshould do the rest of them tv cuts
It's also available as a bonus feature on the digital copy of the theatrical cut! I watched it recently, and I loved it.
2018 transfer 4K at a lot of faded areas
Not sure what that means. But it was not sourced from the 2018 4K HDR release.
@@ITHoTMK just a lot of inconsistent areas in the movie that are really sharp looking and then all sudden the colors extremely faded specially in the suit
@@watching..........6494 The 35mm Silver Screen Edition was sourced from an extended broadcast cut of the film with little to no digital enhancements. If you're looking for a pristine, digitally restored version I'd suggest the new 4K UHD box set release.
i knew it would be shit
Since the 4k release of Superman the movie came out, does it include the original version in its theatrical form?
It is the original theatrical cut.
@@ITHoTMK Ok, thanks.
@@Moviefan-yz7js the 3-hour TV cut is available on the bonus features on the digital copy of the theatrical cut.
The fact that no other comments have been made makes me feel honored to be the first to say that as a lifelong fan of the Superman movies from 1978-1987, I thank you for your hard work. If this becomes feature length, I'd love to be the first to witness it on the big screen in 35mm and original Dolby Stereo! This is the one that made me fall in love with the movies at the age of 4 when my Mom first rented it for me on VHS.
The film is available for download in HD.
@@ITHoTMK Where's the link?
@@JRLopez13 The link is available as a fan edit online.
I saw SUPERMAN at the ABC 1 cinema, in Shaftesbury Avenue, London, on its first weekend, in December, 1978. I saw it in 70mm, and six-track Dolby Stereo. To say that it was awesome is a massive understatement. To this day, it's the happiest that I have ever felt watching a film. I hope that you see it on the biggest screen possible, sometime.
This is the only Dracula that's scary....catacombs...climbing walls...breaking renfields neck...
haha what did I just watch? You vaxx injured and feeling like Tom Cruise in Vanilla Sky or something?
It was all right. I saw it at the cinema when it was first released. Having just read Stoker’s novel when I saw this, I was let down. Seeing it years later, it was still meh. I’ll take the 1977 BBC “Count Dracula” directed by Philip Saville and starring Louis Jourdan, thank you.
my girlfriend was under her seat, she was so scared . Frank Langella was drop dead handsome!!!
Badham's version was pathetic . Where did they ever find someone as bad as Badham to spoil a brilliant classic. The only good choice was casting Langella, thespian Actor Sir Lawrence O was also wasted in this poor attempt of Stokers classic
While I agree it's not the best adaptation of the Bram Stoker novel, it is a solid film in its own right given it was based on the play version by Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston.
Not the usual Dracula adventure, but based on Hamilton Deane's Stage Play, Frank Langella is magnificent.....well done Mr. Badham
❤
I have the soundtrack on Vinyl, and the cinema Blu ray (2disc). Yes, I (very) love DRACULA! 🖤🖤🖤
Sorry, but I prefer the old version: it's more similar, in the artistic way, to the Bela Lugosi's Dracula. The new look more similar to the Coppola's version.
The old version is the color version. The desaturated look was created in 1991 thereby altering the original theatrical color timing of the film.
@@ITHoTMK In Italy (my country), this movie was release with the de saturation. I always believe was the same for the original One.
@@mr.blancov3297 Here is the original theatrical trailer from 1979. The color timing was later adjusted by director John Badham for the 1991 laserdisc release. ruclips.net/video/1ZtwvS0f4D4/видео.html
@@ITHoTMK thanks. Soo the italian version was different from the original. It's not so unusually for italian distribution changes movie's fotografy, lines or even story.
@@ITHoTMK Didn't Badham originally want to desaturate the movie when he made it?
My favorite Dracula!!!
I did watch the original but I'm intrigued on what this would be #ReleasetheNorthCut
Kubrick made his decision. I love North's music for this movie, and I think it's fine to play it with silent visuals from the movie to get a feel for how it might have been. But I think it would definitely be wrong to remake the movie with North's score. That was not Kubrick's intention, he created the movie, leave it at that.
@@AndSendMe Well, we probably know that Kubrick did commission North to do a score based on the classical music, or temp tracks, but North's score got abandoned when the movie premiered
@@Damien23211 We know that the studio told Kubrick the movie needed a composed score, and they suggested North who Kubrick had previously worked with. So Kubrick acted like he was going along with that. We don't know when Kubrick decided he was not going to comply with the studio. Was it even before they hired North? Was it after he heard what North was doing? No idea. It is reasonable to guess that the reason Kubrick never told North is that past a certain point he was using North to blow smoke at the studio to keep them off his back until it was too late (the premiere).
@@Damien23211 Before the premiere, well before.
