Introduction to RestoFloor LLC, Sandless Hardwood Floor Restoration company in North Georgia
I am in NYC and doing more wood floors, and I must say I appreciate your professional approach to hardwood floors and I have learned a few good things from watching you work
Appreciate you! I’ve lived in NY for 10 years 👍
Does the factory pre-finish not have to be heavily sanded to let the water based sealer bond? This hardwood looks exactly like mine and I have several spots I need to repair.
Not heavily, but enough. Diamond sand paper from bona works best. If you just do 1 plank, you can use maroon pad on dry. Just after you do a repair, it’s hard to match the sheen and texture, that’s why we recoat the whole floor
This video is ridiculous, why the rush ? I can't read the product names. I am not liking the video.
Brilliant! Can you provide a link for the actual Bondo that you’re using? Just wondering is it made for Floors? Thank you.
Thank you! Yes, bondo for wood, you can find it in home depot and amazon. I get white hardener separately to get initial color more accurate, and add mixol pigments on darker floors
I have exactly the same floors any recommendation for a company in California?
Not that I know of. Google search for engineered floor restoration or sandless. Good luck
Wow, nice job. I am doing hardwood floors myself. We recently added the service to our menu. I'm curious as to what pad you are using or what grid for engineer floors when doing a recoat cause, I was told that we can not use sandpaper on engineers and refinish wood floors we can only use conditioning pads
Nice work!
Thanks!
where can i go to learn this? I'm in south Alabama
You can reach out to Courtney Lee from Trumans, he does teaching 👍
Thanks
Super dope restoration. Great job. That repair was awesome.
Thanks 👍
What was the actual filler he put in !
It’s a floor stain, not a filler
We have sanded down and tried so match so many varnishes to our supposedly engineered wood ,to get rid of some bad scratches . And now we have a big patch which looks aweful 😭 any suggestions please.
You can only sand engineered wood so much before you get to plywood. Therefore sanding it is rarely a good option. You risk damaging hardwood layer, not matching a color right, then not matching finish. At this point I would try to find a matching plank and replace it
Way too fast , you can’t see the name of the products. And where you can buy it, need to fix several spits in my floor, please comment where you can buy the repair tools.
Sorry, this is not a diy video. I don’t recommend trying it yourself, I recommend calling a professional. Even you buy all this products, each floor has different sheen and texture of top coat, you won’t be able to match it and mess up your floor. This is “what can be done” video to let people know this floor can be repaired to make it look better

Change playback speed in settings. You can cut it right down to 25% of normal speed.
I like this work Ihave working 10 years experience
What do you do with the seems that have small spaces ?
It is usually better to do nothing. Wood tends to expand and contract with seasonal changes, if you fill the gaps most likely filler will eventually crack and crumble, making it look even worse
What type of wood is this?
Engineered wood
What's the best product for light surface scratches on a non-coated engineered herringbone floor? Moved an old sofa yesterday on it and a small miniscule stone has scratched the feck out of it. Cheers in advance.
Having a wax coating on my hardwood, that has not been properly maintained, this video spoke to me. The one thing it didn't say to me, however, is what you used as your wax remover. Thanks
Stripping chemicals like juggernaut, ripsaw, dissolver…need to be real careful with it
where i can found this pens ?
I use many, from mohawk, prismacolor etc… amazon is a good source
Did you use a matte or satin finish? Those look like my exact flooring
These usually come in satin sheen
Wtf just happened?
Where did you get this small display of mini woods?
Here u go floormechanics.com/finish-stain-tint/drifast-stain-color-fan-deck/
Awesome Job! How did you get those wood samples?
Thank you. Here floormechanics.com/finish-stain-tint/drifast-stain-color-fan-deck/
very good job there!👍
Thank you! 👍
@@restofloor4722what kind of pens are these?
looks like crap, no one should pay you for this service.
Did you put any clear sealer over that excellent repair ?
Thanks. 2 coats of poly 👍
Thank you, the razor blade lveelling was a brilliant tip, thanks !!@@restofloor4722
Video goes so fast , it is impossible to see product names without replaying it several tines🙁
Great job man. Keep it going
Thanks, I will !
Beautiful job. What pad are you using to abrade?
Thank you. On this one..maroon pad with 180 diamond discs followed by abrasive brush on a buffer
@@restofloor4722 thanks. Came out great
Yup. Too glossy for me, but what client wants client gets 👍
@@restofloor4722 yes I totally agree with you
@@restofloor4722 would it be ok if i gave you a call tomorrow? Thanks,
Where did you get your woods strip to match the stain.
Over here floormechanics.com/finish-stain-tint/drifast-stain-color-fan-deck/
Great video. We also do screen and recoats in Texas. How do you like the Bona flexi sand? Is this the dcs model? We are looking at the Bona or the American sander with the dust containment.
Thank you! Yes, dcs works great. Im sure AS is great too but never used one. Best of luck 👍
Ty where do you buy your floor pads for your large buffer machine. I have checked big box stores. You said you use 180 or even 120 sometimes Bona diamond. Depends on a floor condition. Ty
Right, I buy 5 inch discs and put it on maroon pad or multi-disc buffer attachment. Search the web for distributor. I get some from floormechanics
That is a nice job. I love how you do a match of color. I also saw spray from Bona and the machine from Bona. Good luck on your business it sure seems to be booming in Georgia.
Thank you !
It's difficult to get oil based stain to stick in these situations. It typically wipes right off as seen on your first stain application. I use Mohawk lacquer markers because they dry way faster and stick way better. I just did a hundred of these touch-ups on a thousand feet of distressed walnut that was stained. Then I coated it with Bona Mega One. I would probably pass if the whole floor was engineered with aluminum-oxide finish, like this floor.
Thanks for great comment. I find gel stains work best in this situation. I think that’s what they use on these floors initially, since it comes off like paint rather then stain wear. It’s not always easy but there is always a way. Cheers brotha
@@restofloor4722 Try the Mohawk pens when you have a chance. I'm sure you know how fast lacquer dries, so the nice thing is finish won't pull the color..
How much does this process cost?
www.restofloor.com/prices-1 This will give you an idea, thanks for comment
How is the process of sand-less?😮
@2:37 ther upper right hand corner of the video though. I'm going to need that dealt with. everything else is beautiful, I'm just a freak though.
Well done very nice job.
Thank you!
Once again, great video man. Good to see you expanding with different nich services. Keep it up.
Thank you sir! Appreciate your comments!
Once again, great promo videos.Have a question for you. I've been using 220 grit for screening. You think if I go to a lower grit I might damadge thenfloor?
Thanks man! No, I mostly use 180 or even 120 sometimes Bona diamond. Depends on a floor condition
@@restofloor4722 You're the best. Thanks
Yes thanks.
Killed it man!! Great work
Appreciate you 👍
Great job on that floor. What brand of emulsifier you used?
Dissolver on this one👍
I just saw all your videos. They are sick, love them. Great job on the floors man. Congrats
Appreciate the feedback! Means a lot!
I really appreciate your attention to detail and your video is very we'll done. May I ask what grit you used to sand this one?
Thank you! 150 bona diamond discs on top of maroon pad👍
And where can you buy those diamond discs and maroon pads.
I have a very old machine side by side a Clarke with a bucket on handle. I did my floors in 2014 used that Machine and 000 steel wool. Then I vacuumed and Then I washed the large floor area with regular industrial mop and bucket and wringer. Then tacked floor then 2 coats of oil Base Polyurethane It’s about time to do. It’s been in since 2014. The area under couches looks like the day it was done. The walking area differently needs it. Would your diamond discs remove the heavy duty polyurethane?
Did you add protection?
No need. It’s 2 year old floor with aluminum oxide on it. Well protected👍
Ok, Thanks! I'm still learning how to figure out which floors have AO and don't.👍
Pretty much all pre-finished
Bro no lie this has to be one of the sickest promo videos I’ve seen for this service! Kudos on the edit! Did you do the editing or hire someone?
Thanx bro! Means a lot! That was actually the first video I ever edited. It’s all about how much time you have you know:) love your vids!

FUNNY SAYS SANDLESS BUT THEN IT SAID LIGHT SANDING IN VIDEO
Good work are you abrading with a maroon pad?
Yes sir. Maroon pad to abrade and smoothen gel stain
