    The Original has been my all time favorite fans (USA made ones are my childhood). I'm still looking for a 2 amp American made 4/5 blade one in White. Around the early 2002 from my understanding, someone said the Memphis production line actually shut down in the early 2002, plus to save the cost of materials, which the American Originals sneaked their way out in the early 2002. Around the mid-2002, the first overseas production on the Original is Taiwan when the motor went 1 amp, then it went to China in 2004. The problem with the early overseas Originals before 2015 is the shaft got truncated from a 4" main bearing shaft to the 2" main bearing shaft, and it also have the oil return hole become smaller. The worst case about the mid-2002-2004 overseas Originals is the oil port is placed on the side of the switch housing, causing them to clog up. The oil port was later put back on top of the motor housing in 2005 with the brass cap. 2015 is the best year for the overseas Originals, Hunter re-engineered the oil-bath motor by putting back the 4" main bearing shaft, made the oil return hole back to the original size the USA Originals had (if I'm not mistaken), and even adjusting the capacitor values for better range of speeds. They also went from wood veneer to PVC veneer to make the Original acceptable to damp locations in 2015. Last year to celebrate 135 years of Hunter being in business, they released the Matte Silver finish for the Original as well as the new tag, and new light kit options for the Original too.

    • @mrfandude1235
      @mrfandude1235 2 года назад

      so current originals are back to the 4” pole system with relubrication? i remember hearing about this being a potential but didn’t realize it actually happened!! omg. mine is a 2012, so sadly it’s only got the 2” pole. so do the 2012s still relubricate the shaft? or is it primarily the bearings that get lubricated?

    • @mrfandude1235
      @mrfandude1235 2 года назад

      by the way i’d easily consider USA originals to be one of my favorites of all time, HUGE childhood fans for me too. they have such a unique look and also run in a unique way too, you CANNOT beat an original 😏

    • @AdinPanthersFanHobby
      @AdinPanthersFanHobby 2 года назад

      @@mrfandude1235 you check the oil for the USA and the overseas Originals, though you may need to do the disassembly if it ever clogs up. And I do agree. No other fan can compare to the Original. USA Originals will always be superior, while the 2015 + present Originals are better.
